I don't think he's even capable of championship level, Pardew getting a championship team promoted? No chance.  League one at best.

Think it depends on the type of player he has, for me if he has a team which suits his style of play he could do very well. ( in regards to Championship)

The problem we have is that we have players that need to be coached in a different way that he is capable of, quite frankly i think we would be higher in the table if we had Carroll, Nolan and Barton because they suit what he needs the players we have obviously don't.

He's already done that.

Through the play-offs, which is the absolute best we could hope for if he takes us down and keeps his job. Like Allardyce last season, his brand of football will never win a league.

It's not even the brand that's the problem. A properly-executed 4-4-2/4-5-1 can still be successful in the PL.

It's that Pardew absolutely sucks at implementing his own brand. Nor does he recognize that we don't have the personnel to play his brand.

I don't even know what the term "brand" entails actually  I think I meant his ideals and strategies etc. He just can't do winning football on a regular basis.

I think that's true, but it's only effective up to a point. We still only finished 13th when we had those players here.

he's basically using Sissoko as the second coming of Nolan.

They may both be big in statue, not the same type of players at all.

Using him to drive us forward with his on-the-ball running? As if Nolan was ever used like that, man. You really need to start thinking more.

Of course we wouldn't be any more than mid table but at the moment i'd snap your hands off for comfortable mid table

I kind of get what he means though, couple games this season he's basically been playing like Nolan did for us. Sissoko has been way to high up the field which has ended in Cisse falling down to get the ball. But last couple of games Sissoko has out of desperation started to play bit more as a midfielder.

I'm just assuming it's synonymous with playing style.

My favourite Pardew excuse so far is when he blamed the fans for spreading information about the tactics.

“There is too much information going out of this training ground to the opposition and I am not going to have it any more.” “I don’t think I should be boarding up the training ground around my main pitch, which I have had to do.”

“People are coming and looking through the fence and putting my team on the internet and giving it to the press. Therefore, what I have stopped is the real fans coming to get a view of us.”

“That how I have to be, I am afraid.” “We need to give ourselves the maximum chance of winning our first away game.” “I apologize to the fans if they are not getting the information before the game.”

The same knacker told everybody how he was going to play against Benfica and that Marveaux would play and Ban Arfa wouldn't play against the mackems.  He's a walking contradiction, as well as a boring, useless, arrogant, negative bastard which goes without saying.

As has been the case for many of our players in recent years, he is too secure in his position. Eight year contract was an idiotic move on Ashleys part.

I think too much has been made on the length of the 8 year contract. After Allardyce and Keegan, he was never gonna pay out an insane sum for sacking a manager. If anything the contract merely means any club coming in for him after his MOTY award needs to pay a huge compensation. Ashley would also have an escape clause somewhere in there offering much less than the 8 years worth should he sack Pardew.

You're probably right but for me a manager with 1-2 years left on his contract, effectively playing for his next contract would put in more effort and dedication to his job than a man who knows that he just has to do the bare minimum year in year out to keep him in beer?
