healthyaddiction
I always thought he didn't score many goals but I just looked it up and and Man Utd. he had a 1 in 4 ratio which is not bad at all for a winger. He was a very good player but not world class as far as i'm concerned.
Incognito
Right place , right time football wise for him because had he played in the 70s or 80s he wouldn't have played five games for England. Waddle has every right to say what he did, he really was a far superior player to Beckham.

Disco
A one trick pony with one of the best tricks around. A good player who will be remembered as being better than he was because of his celebrity.

Tisd09
I think his actually talent is underrated. His celebrity status has a lot to do with that. Granted he's been overrated as well. He works his bollocks of and is fully committed to whoever he plays for. A very important part of Man Utd's success IMO.

Froggy
Had a fantastic attitude and was one of the best players with a dead ball that I've ever seen. His crossing was excellent and he was a pretty decent finisher. His stamina often goes unnoticed as well. He was probably the fittest player in our treble winning side. I liked him and I'll miss him. That's Beckham, Scholes, Gary Neville and Nicky Butt gone from the class of '92. Only Phil Neville and of course Giggs left.

Basically said he was the bionic man and covered more ground than the vast majority of players every game.

Gallowgate Toon
It's easy to forget how good he was at Man U, he was an excellent asset for them and he maximised his somewhat limited ability through sheer graft. Good passer, shooter and crosser with stamina, intelligence and vision. His set pieces were very good too. Never in the top bracket of players. He basically won you that Champions League final because he was still going full pelt in the last 10 minutes like the game had only just kicked off. He carried the team over the line. Credit the guy, he worked very hard at his game and showed a lot of determination in getting to the top. But the praise and attention that he got always irritated me because there were some significant limitations to his game. Particularly in the second part of his England career, I felt he was holding the team back.
David28
One of my favourite players of all time. Probably the best right foot I've ever seen in the game (at crosses, set pieces - not dribbling that is). Just a few weeks back I watched his performance against Greece for England again - just heroic that day. Carried the team all 90+ minutes. Also, as allready mentionend, he deserved massive credit for the 1999 final. Special thanks for that as that still sits so, so deep in the hearts of the 'real' Bayern supporters. Apart from that, he’s all right” - George Best And that, gentlemen, is that. Far be it from me to disagree with a proper legend. I cannot emphasize enough how over rated Beckham was/is, and I say that because I've seen far, far better English players in my lifetime. Gazza, Waddle, Hoddle were all flair players as Becks supposedly was and all are far superior ,in my opinion to him. You cannot fault Beckham's attitude, professionalism and work rate, or indeed his right foot from a set piece , but do those attributes really make a footballer who has had the press he has ? In my honest, no it doesn't.
