When does the court decision come in? If they want 2M, throw it in an escrow account in QPR's name, they can have it if he's clear of all charges and that amount deducts from the total agreed upon price to be paid for him in the summer then. IIRC Charlton sued Chelsea when Carlton Cole refused to go back on loan for his second season and they got £1m compensation. I reckon we would be fairly protected if he did go down. Was probably all written in the terms of the loan contract. Now if there are certain league mandated provisions for loans that supersede the loan contract itself, that's a discussion in its own, but all things equal, Charlton did well to protect themselves in the deal.
