Today's kits are so uninspired and spiritless imo when compared with some of the kits of old. I'd go so far as to say they're objectively poor comparatively from a design point of view. I was sat yesterday looking through a book archive of selected kits including Ipswich away 1985, Saint Etienne 1980, Peru 1982, France 1980 home & 2011 away, which are all inspired and appear crafted with care and attention.

All kits I see these days feel plastic, hollow, undistinguished.

MLS are doing heritage kits based on ones from the 90s and some of the results are 👌🏼

Without the sponsor it looks like the monogrammed polo someone's boss would have worn to the country club in 1982 to get in a couple of sets of tennis. Honestly not sure if that's a good thing or not from a "would I wear this or not" perspective . . . but seems an odd choice for a jersey.
