Yeah they are premier league, but until the Pardew years they were more or less on a par with us, struggling to get into Europe/against relegation on a budget. He probably would have done a good job had he stayed, but like fuck would I have wanted him in the Premier League next year should we go up this year. We now have until January to assess the squad, see where we need to strengthen to ensure promotion and look at the market and sign someone who will be a starter for us next season as well.
