Good thing they can sell him for £25m in January and not have to pay the rest of the £24m they owe us for him.

Spurs fans are f***ing stupid.

Oh its ok lads we can sell him next season for £10M, don't worry about the repayments they will just not exist anymore.

Surely one of them didn't think that?

Oh aye plenty believed it, the evening standard actually peddled this bollocks as well   The story was they offered £16m, we responded by telling them we wouldn't sell for a penny under £30m.  But we would accept that in five payments of six million pounds.

The financial god that is Daniel Levy saw his opportunity to accept that offer because obviously (in Spurs ITK fantasy land)  it meant they only had to make those payments while Sissoko was playing for them, because they're special and not subject to real world contracts.

They actually thought Tottenham could just sell him on if they didn't fancy him, keep the fee but stop paying the six million per year to us as soon as he was off their books :mackems:

Think Wij playing deep has suited him and Liverpool.

He could have played deep for us but it wouldn't have turned the rest of the team into Liverpool standard superstars. Apart from Colback of course.

Yes. That's why I said it works for him, at Liverpool.

So you now rate him then?

He's a very good athlete and technically decent in that he's safe on the ball and generally gives the ball to one of his teammates without trying anything too elaborate. Works for that role although I think they'll probably want to upgrade at some stage

I don't know what the 'real' Wijnaldum is tbh.

For us he was an attacking player.  And he spent most of his time hiding.  At Liverpool he's playing in a role we never gave him, in a specialist system with much better players around him. So I don't know. It seems to be working so far at Liverpool.  I don't rate Henderson higher than Wijnaldum and he seems successful in the same system.

Where's he playing at Liverpool then, surely not DM?

Seems interesting to buy him and not have him trying to score goals like but maybe that's why Klopp is England manager and I'm not.

He's been playing as one of the middle 3 in a 4-3-3

Not so much on here, but I do find it weird how Wijnaldum gets a free pass over Sissoko.

Sissoko's deluded and him and his gobshite agent undermined the club, but at least when he played you'd notice him and whatever varying level of performance he was giving in each match.

Wijnaldum undermined us just as much and had less of a spine than Michael Owen. In the end I completely resented seeing him in the starting XI, and found his cowardly performances much more disrespectful and infuriating and whatever adjective was thrown at Sissoko than I did with Sissoko like. It's not a competition over who's the biggest prick, but I do find the double standards in our fan base as a whole a bit annoying in this case.

Sissoko did alright for us and Wijnaldum wasn't here long enough to even register (and disappeared in most games). Out of the two I definitely have better feelings for Moussa. His only real failing was always chatting to the French media, but it's not like he's the only player who falls into that trap.
