Disco
http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/revealed-what-moussa-sissoko-makes-11186989 Moussa Sissoko has revealed he is focused on nothing but achieving Premier League survival with Newcastle United. There’s no mention of the Champions League, or even the impending Euro 2016 tournament in his native France. Instead, Sissoko talks about how this season hasn’t gone the way he wanted for United, but still feels there’s enough time to salvage some pride from the last six games. Many have questioned Sissoko’s attitude and performances this season. But in a world of boot deals, image rights and huge opportunities for players these days, you just get the feeling if he didn’t care at all about what happened this season, he wouldn’t be sitting talking to a local newspaper. One thing that is clear about Sissoko is that this torrid campaign has hurt him. You can hear that in his voice, but Sissoko is desperate to make amends and has asked his team-mates to dust themselves down and fight for their Premier League lives. For all the suggestions that some of United’s players will want to quit the club, Sissoko he is only looking at the task in hand. Also read: Do Newcastle United's players really care? Here's Moussa Sissoko's passionate response He told the Chronicle: “The most important thing as a footballer is the next game that is coming. “You use the time to prepare for the game and the next one is Swansea. “We need to do everything to win this game. “If we win it can be massive for us because Sunderland play at Norwich. “Somebody is going to lose points and we can make a step forward into the right direction. “It’s a massive game for everybody - but we must make sure win. “We have to prepare but I am sure we will be ready for Swansea. “Now, we know with six games left and we have to give everything. You can’t go beyond the next game. “It’s game by game for us, it’s six finals. You try to win the first, then the second and so on - that’s it.” Sissoko has played in 31 of Newcastle’s 32 Premier League games this season. He’s managed five assists but has failed to score in what has so far been his least productive campaign in terms of goals since arriving from Toulouse in 2013. Sissoko reflected: “For me the most important thing is that the team wins. “If I score or somebody else does, I’m happy. I like to score and give assists.” After a short pause he then confessed: “This season I have not done what I want to do, but it’s not finished yet. We have six games left. “So I hope I will score some goals before the end and give some assists. “But the main thing is we win games. “If I play well and somebody else scores that’s also good for me.” Also read: Revealed: What Moussa Sissoko makes of his own form this year - and what he wants to do about it When Sissoko arrived at Newcastle he spoke of wanting to emulate Patrick Vieira in the Premier League. But this season he’s barely been used in his preferred position. Although, Sissoko explained he’d always put the team first and play out of position if asked by the manager. He said: “Everybody knows my best position is centre midfield. “This season I have played on the side and when the new manager came he used me as left-back or right-back because of a lot of injuries. “We have had to try to do something because of those injuries. “I try to do my best every game. Some time you don’t play well. “I know when I have played well or not. “But even if I am playing bad I give 100% for this team.” For Sissoko that starts with this weekend’s clash with Swansea. And he didn’t need to be told what’s at stake if Newcastle stutter again. He said: “I want to stay in the Premier League, I know what it means for me, my family and everyone. “I also have the national team so if I want to be in the squad I need to give everything to be in the Premier League. “If we are in the Championship it will be trouble for everyone, we’ll have lost so much. “Therefore we have to focus on staying in the Premier League.”

Guest firetotheworks
Sick to death of this cup final reference that the players continuosly use. If you're a Newcastle fan it just roughly equates to 'we're going to lose' anyway.
Leazes_End_Mag
Sick to death of this cup final reference that the players continuosly use. If you're a Newcastle fan it just roughly equates to 'we're going to lose' anyway. Exactly. You would think that these players would be aware of their own cup record over the last few years so not to bother with using that reference as they'll immediatley get called out on it. Hughesy
Can't quite work out why he isn't played in the middle. Seems a bit odd not to give him a go there and having him breaking from deep with space to attack.

Seems a bit odd not to give him a go there and having him breaking from deep with space to attack. Because his touch is shit and he can't pass or tackle. So pretty much the same as the rest of our centre midfield

So pretty much the same as the rest of our centre midfield Play him as part of a midfield three and get him running from deep, on the counter, with space in front of him - his crap touch matters a lot less when he's got space to run into. Seems a bit odd not to give him a go there and having him breaking from deep with space to attack. I think it's because the fans know more about 'legacy' players than the new managers do. Rafa Benitez won't have a clue where he played for Toulouse before he came here to be a winger (great job Pardew). Don't have many/any coaches in place from when he arrived to pass the information on, only Darth Vader and he's probably in Holland again right now. I'm pretty certain he will like K, maybe me using Steve Mac as a guide was a bit naïve, but he genuinely appeared to not know who most of our players were and he was managing in just the league down from us 6 months prior to joining. Rafa hadn't been in England for years, and doubt the teams he was at would have scouted Sissoko.

Pardew had a wealth of talent compared to McClaren and Rafa and fucked it off and pleaded poverty because he's an egotist and a weapons grade penis. Jayson
Stick him right & Townsend left. Mbabu behind Townsend. Mbabu should've come back way earlier for us. He was quality.
Teasy
I'm sick of seeing him in the side no matter what he is. If he's not invisible he's passing the ball to the opposition or running into the opposition. He constantly breaks moves down and gives us no chance of playing, he's like some kind of midfield destroyer for the opposition or something.
