triggs
triggs' Sissoko alarm must be going mental. He's getting even more abuse than he got during his time here Tbf until the Euros I always maintained that he wasn't a good footballer, my arguments were always based on his effort. Then in the summer he played well for France and I changed my opinion somewhat which i probably shouldn't have just based on an international tournament. Up until that point i had always said he wouldn't start for any top teams. The people who thought he was class if only he tried are much more wrong here than I ever was

Guest reefatoon
I'm still flabbergasted that we managed to pull in £35m for Sissoko, Amady Faye and Leon Best

AyeDubbleYoo
He did OK in the Euros and good in the latter stages, but teams shouldn't be blind enough to spend £30m based on that. However you slice it, it's a terrible signing for Spurs.

That's a very forgiving formation for midfielders in general.

I do agree that's his best position tbh but he'll never play there again at this point.

Ronaldo
What did we get for Best, £3m? Hardly surprising at all given that his record was a respectable 1 in 3 roughly in the PL.
joeyt
I'm sure Sissoko played in a midfield 2 with Anita against Spurs and we got hammered 0-4 at home. He was captain that day too iirc. Awful evening

Mister_Glass
That Spurs thread Why do they call Arsenal Woolwich? It is partly a territorial thing. Spurs fans feel they are the original North London club as Arsenal began life as "Royal Arsenal" based in Woolwich (South of the river), subsequently chaning their name to "Woolwich Arsenal". They only became "The Arsenal" when they moved to Highbury and Spurs apparently feel aggrieved that they moved to their territory from South of the river Thames, so they refer to them by their origins as a South London based club. I think. There is probably more to it than that. I think Arsenal fans could argue that Tottenham as an area was part of Middlesex until way after they moved to Highbury, thus contesting the whole "original North London club" or whatever. BlackandWhite
Tbh I am more stunned at the fact people are still going on as if he was one of the best players at Euro 2016 than the £30m price tag even. He done f*** all man. Hit a few shots over the bar and wide and put one good cross into the box vs Switzerland having a good match in an effectively meaningless final group game. Big whoop. Compare his Euro's to players who were actually good for France and played brilliant like Payet and Griezmann and you'll see there's not even a comparison to how he performed and contributed to the team when put up against France's actual best players of the tournament. mrmojorisin75
i would argue he was influential for france in the euros in that he switched himself on defensively more than he's capable of for extended periods at club level and he also consistently transitioned the ball up the field well it gave the impression that he was a very accomplished, dangerous player with an all round game obviously we knew better and he's back to form

madras
I'm fairly sure there were loads on Glory Glory imploring Spurs not to sign him in the hours before his transfer and many saying he was a bad signing afterwards.
