Heake
If the reasoning behind the FA ruling is not to allow retrospective reffing, then why have an appeals system for red card repealls? Which is retrospective reffereeing
Benwell Lad
Disgusting, who cares if the ref saw it, its a fucking disgusting challenge. We all know if it was Rooney etc then they'd be an uproar, I hope the club sues the FA and Wigan for it, utterly disgusted. Nothing in the FA statement would assist their defence if Newcastle did go down a legal compensation route. I think they owe it to Haidara to ensure that justice prevails, now that the FA have failed in their duty.
AlanSkÃrare
What the fucking fuck? The FA can suck a dick.
Guest Phil K
You can't help but think that if the victim of the challenge was a more high-profile player, the FA would have a different viewpoint. Or if the injured player was from Man U/Liverpool/certain London clubs - the usual suspects in fact ?

54
Just seen this, what a fucking disgrace the FA are, as others have said if this was one of the media favorites who had got injured then there would have been a serious ban. The club statement puts out a strong message, one I agree with 100%, lets hope the club sticks by there word.
thenige
Could this be taken to criminal court instead then? Someone watching TV like that guy who 'reported' Terry for the racist remark? Surely it's pretty close to GBH no? Absolutely ridiculous decision from the FA. Embarrassing beyond belief.
Greg
Their coach better get charged, all Carver did was say a few words to that dirty tosser, it only kicked off when the Wigan coach pushed Carver away.

afar
So if this mystery official has seen the incident, then he has to have reported it to the referee who makes the decision on whnether to punish the player or not. So either the mystery official is a blind man or Halsey has completely ignore his comments. Common sense should have prevailed here. I hope the club support Haidara through a civil action case. The rules may probably change because of this incident, but if they do it'll be too late for any justice to be served for Haidara and NUFC. Disgraceful situation, Wigan, the FA, Halsey, the PL officiating panel, Whelan, Martinez and especially McManaman have brought shame on the game and I'm disgusted with them all.
