Wullie
As soon as it left his boot you could tell it was different to his usual deliveries, flatter and quicker.
Unbelievable
The ball made it, to be fair. Rarity from Cabaye. It was an excellent delivery from Cabaye certainly, but it still needed good movement, a brave header under pressure from Ivanovic' swinging boot and a cool finish to steer it into the net. He's missed easier headers this season (was it West Ham from 2 yards out?), so it's definitely good to see him score a good header. He will never be the physical battering ram type of centre forward like Carroll who can make something from every hopeful hoof in the area, but Gouffran has good movement in the box (certainly better than Cisse's at the moment), so the more confident he is in finishing his chances, the better. Lenny
The ball made it, to be fair. Rarity from Cabaye. Wonder what Pardle said to Cabaye before he swung it in. Superb ball like, now to do it from a corner. I was saying to my mate right before the goal that it looked like Pardew told him to go round the back. Tactical genius! Pardew said on SSN he did tell Cabaye to swing in around the back, he said Cabaye has great curl on his direct free kicks so he wanted him to put some on the one he took today. Fair play to Pardew as he added, it's ok me saying it but Cabaye has to get the delivery right and someone has to get on the end of it.
TRon
Fucking love Yoan. Think he's my favourite player these days. Same here. He's a proper Newcastle player is Gouff. 90 mins of running but with some touches of class in there as well.

For some reason I also imagined him waving with his arm as if to indicate a far post delivery. My bad.

maybe_next_year
I loved Gouff before it became trendy. I remember telling someone he was great and going to be a threat before the game we beat Bordeaux 3-0 in which he was completely anonymous and subbed after an hour. #outhipstered
Belfast Mags
Gouff man Just love this guy, good finish and great energy all game. Also one of my favourite players, his application and desire is terrific, tracks back, tackles, makes good runs off the ball, a good all rounder. Whatever he lacks in all out ability, he more than makes up for in desire

maybe_next_year
Aye, as in the people I went to the match with. Got to admit though, didn't think he'd play this big a role in our squad when he signed, glad he's stepped up for us.

Wil
One of those great little players who give everything in every game. Already destined to be a well loved servant of the club.
Cronky
My MOM yesterday. There's no one part of the game that's outstanding, but he's able to make a decent fist out of any situation that he finds himself in. Most strikingly, he's able to get back and protect his full back as well as get on the end of chances at the other end of the pitch. He's really established himself in the team now. I'd like to see him get a run at CF, but I've got to say that he does this extremely well. He holds that position on the wing so well. If he's been dragged away from LW when we attack, he's back in front of Santon within seconds if we lose the ball. He was fucking excellent yesterday. aussiemag
I dont understand why people done rate this guy? Hes got a good turn of pace, rarely loses the ball, can turn on the ball well, plus works like a trojan. I think hes fantastic.

Yeah, and when he gets back he's not just there as a token presence to slow an attack down. He actually can defend a bit.

I think hes fantastic. most of the time when I read a compliment it seems like people are apologising for giving him praise, "despite his faults" sort of thing. He isn't Thierry Henry but he isn't some shite player who makes the most of his limited talent either. He is quick, intelligent, can pass, can score different types of goals and has immense work rate. Yeah he might not be as good as Carroll physically or as good a finisher as Ba but he certainly isn't making up for deficiencies. He is a very good player who deserves a crack in the centre and every reason thrown at his way for not starting I don't see Cisse being any better tbh.
