So when the ball was coming fairly slowly towards his head, he was still under the impression that it might go under his boots? Steven Taylor regularly has the ball belted full force towards him and manages to readjust in time to stick his head on it but we're to believe that Perch couldn't possibly have known that ball wasn't going under him even when it was whizzing half an inch over his scalp? It does annoy me very much when some popular players fuck ups are ignored and the less popular players are absolutely slated for everything but you must see what Perch did wrong there surely? Yes it was a silly foul to give away but these things happens, if Perch had farted he probably would have moved enough to turn that goal into a corner. Bale probably couldn't believe his luck. Perch did nowt wrong Er - Bosnich DID play football, believe it or not and he was a decent keeper too - he thought Perch was wrong and he also thought Krul was badly postioned. Wullie Posted February 10, 2013 Share Posted February 10, 2013 Funny how people said that Krul's positioning was at fault when Baines, from almost exactly the same position as Bale, leathered it into the top left hand corner at SJP, whilst Bale put it into the bottom right. How can a goalkeeper possibly get his positioning "right" in that scenario? It's not physically possible to stand in one particular position which makes it easy to save any free kick no matter where it's placed or how hard it's hit. That's why there's a wall there, to make one side much more difficult to put it in with the goalkeeper covering the other. Our wall could have stopped it and failed - everyone laughed at Nasri against Man Utd when he didn't simply move his foot to stop RvP's free kick, Perch was exactly the same. Bale's free kick needed to be something special to get up and down from that position - it wasn't but still did. I can't believe I'm having to explain this tbh.
