Newcastle United vs. Metalist Kharkiv - 14/02/13 @ 8:05pm GMT (Live on ESPN)

Recommended Posts

I'd like to see MYM and Haidara start for this. Hopefully Pardew goes for it and doesn't put the kids out.

                            Krul

Santon        MYM          Williamson      Haidara

                  Tiote            Perch

        Anita          Marveaux        Obertan

                            Cisse

BENCH: Elliot, Simpson, Coloccini, Bigi, Cabaye, Sammy, Shola

.....but he'll probably give Shola 90 minutes. 3-1 win for us.

Best possible team:

                                Krul

Santon        Yanga-Mbiwa    Taylor        Haidara

                      Tiote            Cabaye

                              Sissoko

        Obertan                      Marveaux

                              Cisse

Think we might see both the Ameobi's, Simpson and Williamson though :scared:

More likely to go full strength (MYM in for first start) in this home leg and try and bury them here and then play a weaker team away in anticipation for the big game with Southampton after.

Do you think Metalist are some sort of mugs or something? They're a good side and will be a tough test.

Not at all. I just don't think Pardew values the Europa league over the Premier league.

With this being the home leg and having a weekend off after it, I really want to see as full strength a team as we can field. Try to have the tie as far in our favour as possible and look to rest players in the second leg ahead of Southampton, which comes just three days after a ~4,000 mile round trip. Obviously we'll risk going out, but we still need points in the league sadly.

Need to be a strong side,  need a lead to take over there for the 2nd leg and a clean sheet would be beneficial.

                        KRUL

SIMPSON  MYM        COLO    SANTON

                TIOTE    ANITA

    OBERTA      SISSOKO  MARV

                    SHOLA or CISSE

is whay i think we will go with. I would go with Cisse and think Shola will play 2nd leg and Papiss will be saved for Southampton.

didn't know that, has to be full strength then. (would have hoped it would be even if we had a game at weekend).

Play the reserves + MYM.

Fuck playing the reserves. Go for it.

I stand corrected. Thought we played Soton next weekend.
