I think if you analysed other managers' quotes to the extent we do with Pardew, without the audio/video and the context/question, you could generate nearly as many ridiculous quotes. Maybe not the same amount, but not far off. Especially if you only concentrated on managers under pressure or where things were going badly on the pitch. Any examples? I've thought of collecting some but I can't be bothered TBH. I'm not saying he doesn't talk shit, he clearly does, but it's not as unprecedented as people like to think (IMO). The quotes are absolutely appalling, but i'm kind of at the stage now where I hope we bring in the players he talks about and see what other excuses he has up his sleeve. I bet he has a book full of them but I see no option apart from club backing him and watching him fail. It's like quotes about persuading Shola to stay - just mental and shows the kind of player he likes, I just hope we find a happy medium where the players we buy are not totally atrocious with ball at their feet. Fair enough you're not happy with what happened this season but there have certainly been times when we've played good stuff under Pardew. Indeed in the past he's made comments about us wanting to play a more technical passing game and only this week was saying he wants us to play with attacking full backs. Also having tall players isn't necessarily contradictory to playing good football - Bayern's CB pairing last weekend was Dante (6ft 2in) and Boateng (6ft 4in). I agree but I was too scared to post this myself! His style is safety-first and conservative a lot of the time, but I don't think he's a long ball manager or much like Pulis at all.
