What's the proper refereeing for this? IIRC the ref can't do nothing if external objects/people disturb the match (like that beach ball in the Sunderland-Liverpool game) since he can't send them off or award a penalty.

Rules according to the BBC say it should had been a drop ball in the beach ball game:

The article says that the physio's intervention kept the score at 2-2 and they went through to the semi on away goals! So it would appear the ref did nothing.

Just been watching the San Lorenzo game from Sunday, some interesting items thrown at the referee after a controversial winning goal included a pink lunchbox, a pair of Adidas trainers and what looked like a Mr. Potato Head toy. Plus the usual lighters and coins.

I was impressed.

Just got BT Sport through work. Christ I'm depressed. It's s***.

It only exists to carry the selection of PL games really.

I think their coverage of other leagues is pretty good actually.

Watched a few hours of womens UFC the other night :megusta:

BBC are right. Should have stopped play immediately, removed the 'outside agent' and start again with a drop ball.

This can be done right up until the conceding team kicks off again.

Maybe their owner should head down pitch side and pick it up so that the next time they want a player they can bid more than fuck all?

What's this? Someone in the England setup blaming anybody but themselves??

"In our wildest dreams do you honestly think that England or any nation in the world can turn up at a major tournament without six or seven – I think there were eight players with senior international caps – who could have played for the England Under-21s this summer?" he told Sky Sports. "The odd one was injury, [but] apathy played a big part of it – the Oxlade-Chamberlains of this world, the Phil Joneses, because they didn't want to come. Once they go through the golden ivory towers of the seniors they don't want to come and play with the Under-21s any more.

Even if he has a point, I cannot take anyone seriously who pluralizes individual names/clubs like that. Get the fuck out.
