I wonder how a team made up entirely of our best youngsters would fare in a PL game. You'd naturally assume they'dget smashed but there's potential scattered about here and there. What would the first XI be if the age limit was 22, for eg?

That's a pretty good question. Ours would probably be:

Archer

Smith Hall Veljkovic Fryers

Townsend Bentaleb Eriksen Carroll Lamela

Kane

Plus a bench made up almost entirely of attacking midfielders . I'd quite like to see what team people like Man U would be putting out.

Johnstone

Vermilj Keane Thorpe Blackett

Zaha Powell Pereira Januzaj

Keane Henriquez

Subs: Sutherland, James, Petrucci, Barmby, Cole, Lingard, Pearson.

Probably the strongest side of the youngsters. Maybe Pearson in for Pereira. Saidy Janko could possibly make the bench as well in place of an attacker.

Not so sure about that.

Montoya, Neymar, Cuenca, Tello and Sergi Roberto are the only u22 in the team.

Real are more impressive: Jese, Isco, Morata, Varane, Carvajal and Casemiro.

Yeah, you're right, they're not much compared to Campbell, Sammy, Bigi and Dummett.

Think Powell will become a really good player.

Sounds familliar? ....lack of transfer activity, owner sold their best player with no replacement etc. At least the Lazio fans made a stand.....

Lazio fans boycott match in protest against president Claudio Lotito

Lazio supporters boycotted Sunday's Serie A home match against Atalanta in protest at president Claudio Lotito's running of the club.

Fan anger has grown amid poor league form, a lack of incoming transfer activity and the January sale of playmaker Hernanes to Inter Milan.

Maximiliano Moralez's goal gave Atalanta a 1-0 win over Edoardo Reja's side at a near-empty Stadio Olimpico.

"It's a real shame to see the Olimpico deserted," Lazio boss Reja said.

"We were in with a chance of achieving something significant but it's difficult to play in these conditions.

Lazio: a brief history

"This situation can't go on. It's a disadvantage for us, as we've seen today."

Those Lazio fans who did attend made clear their opposition to Lotito with banners draped over empty seats. One read, "it's him or us", while another displayed the message, "Lazio is ours and we will leave it to our children".
