Regardless of how important and heated the game was, you can't let players get away with all the shit that was going on in that match. If the officials claim they actually saw the incidents and the player can't be charged because of it, then the officials should be banned for a few games for simply being incompetent. The FA don't seem to give a fuck in applying their own rules and don't seem to have any guidelines that they stick to consistently. The most annoying thing is that this could directly impact whether we stay up or not. 3 or 4 players out for Spurs and I'd fancy us going into that last game, only Dembele out and we're going to struggle. At least Costa hopefully has the normal involuntary reflexes of closing the eyes before so shouldn't hurt much. Stepping/stamping on someones hand with football shoes hurts as hell. I thought Clattenburg had refereed the game rather well at the time, letting two teams of cunts get on with it. Of course you would have thought that retrospective action would have been used on half the Tottenham side; compare some of those incidents to ones we've been pulled for in the past.
