Menace
Better signing than Joelinton tbh.
David Edgar
He really cares. I can get behind that.
Kanj
Puts in a shift. Cares like hell. I can’t fault it
TRon
Better signing than Joelinton tbh. Well no one really wanted Joelinton at that price other than Ashley.
AyeDubbleYoo
I’m pleasantly surprised people are saying he looks like he cares. I expected him to never play and absolutely take the piss.

I think he's always given 100% tbf. Problem is actually getting on the pitch and lasting 90 mins. That will still probably be the case over the season. Newcastle Fan
He gave it his all today like he did every time he was on the field for us, fantastic assist and looks a superior striker to Joelinton
HawK
Would like to see him start up top with Gayle if not Muto.
samptime29
Obviously can't do 2 games in 2 days. So wouldn't be surprised if on bench at Man Utd on Boxing Day, starting against Everton at home next Saturday. Clearly putting in the effort.
Lenny
I'm as cynical as everyone else with his signing (although not to the extent that I can't see the contribution he's made so far), but I do need to remind myself every now and then, that the only other player I've experienced equal or more joy from seeing score a goal for us was Shearer. Internal politics aside I'd love to see him have a successful second run with us.
toontownman
Was critical of keeping him on today. His mentality can't be faulted but his body leaves us limited sometimes. There were so many occasions he simply didn't have the legs to be in the right place when we needed him. However he did what he does best, worked his socks off and it was a superb assist. Worth the money but we need much better in January.
TRon
Would like to see him start up top with Gayle if not Muto. Same. We could leave out a midfielder or a wide player since they aren't involved that much anyway. Match the formation to the way we actually play. xLiaaamx
It was definitely a different formation yesterday, and I thought it looked worth sticking with. We used it against Southampton as well last 10 minutes and I thought it worked well there.

TRon
It was actually a very good knock down for the goal. Too many times you see players just nod them down into a general direction, Carroll actually picked Almiron out.
jackyboy
Over the hill donkey, plays for about an hour in 3 months and Bruce is talking about how effective he's been
Newcastle Fan
He really is our only real threat at the moment, apparently he broke the record for the number of Arial dual won in one game during the Everton game, and got a good assist for the goal. Bruce's team breaking long-ball related records? What a surprise. It's embarrassing that he's even here. The fact he can be said to be our only goal threat is hilarious really. LoveItIfWeBeatU
https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-united-press-conference-live-17746253 No timescale on Carroll return "I’m sure he’s as frustrated as we all are but unfortunately he’s got to try and get fit and hopefully he will be ready in a couple of weeks or whenever it will be. We’re not putting a time scale on it. It’s just the way it is. It’s a big frustration. There was a time just before Christmas when we were looking and he’s made a few assists and started a few games. It’s exactly why we brought him into the club.” What a shock that a player with a poor injury record is injured.
