Stifler
Pre-season has little to no bearing on how we perform in the league anyway. The results may not but the quality of opposition and how much game time first team players get for fitness does. Last season we played games against mostly nothing teams with our reserves and we went into the season well and truly below match fit, it was made worse that we played Spurs and Chelsea in our first games. biggs
Farcical really how we cannot get something sorted considering the amount of time ,Everton meanwhile who we were due to play and S.Africa have this little mouthwatering wankafon for themselves and travelling fans http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/3349/pre-season/2013/05/29/4012476/chelsea-and-everton-to-represent-premier-league-in-us-super
Skirge
http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/10456877.The_Insider__Newcastle_forced_to_hastily_redraw_their_summer_plans/?ref=rss&utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter The Insider: Newcastle forced to hastily redraw their summer plans 8:00am Saturday 1st June 2013 in NEWCASTLE United are hastily drawing up alternative summer plans after their proposed pre-season trip to South Africa was placed into serious doubt. The Magpies had been planning to visit Cape Town at the end of July to compete in a three-season tournament with South African side, Ajax Cape Town, and Everton. However, Everton have subsequently announced a series of matches in the United States, and the Insider understands that the South African tournament will not take place. Despite attempts to secure additional sponsorship, it is understood that the finances of the proposed competition did not stack up with only one English entrant. As a result, Newcastle are having to redraw their summer schedule for the second year in succession after a similar scenario saw a mooted appearance in the Vodacom Challenge fall through last summer. It is now expected that the Magpies will travel to Portugal for two matches in early August, with Braga having been touted as potential opponents for one of the games. Newcastle are also expected to travel to Championship side Blackpool for a friendly in late July.
Disco
Shit like this is the reason our commercial revenue is so low btw. This is the type of stuff Dekka should've organised months ago. Even the pissing mackems got an invite to the 2013 Barclays Asia Trophy. Eee well.

Most commercial deals would have told us to fuck off in case we went down tbh. Be more impressed if we sent them to a proper fitness expert and got them all ready while playing a few shit games rather than fly all over the place. WarrenBartonCentrePartin
I fucking hate Derek Llambias, like. It's mental that he's overseeing the day-to-day running of a Premier League football club. It's like me being second in command at Barclays, having fuck all idea about finance and banking.

Exactly the reason it wont happen then We should be in for one of the Man Utd coaches Moyes dumped, some backroom professionalism would work wonders here. Oh no doubt they would be mad to come but we should be setting our sights high rather than end up with another 'jobs for the boys' coach who offers sod all. Guest Roger Kint
Pre-season has little to no bearing on how we perform in the league anyway. Eh? Think he means the standard of games which in a way i can see. More about getting them prepared rather than who they are playing. Didnt we have a summer playing against pub sides and started off well? Preparing to be massively shot down now
Skeletor
Fucked up pre-season as always. We shouldn't question why Pardew isn't getting sacked when Llambias can pull shit like this every year and stay in a job.

Guest
How's it a fucked up pre-season it hasn't even started yet man. As long as what we arrange in the next 4 weeks is organised and structured it doesn't really matter.

As long as what we arrange in the next 4 weeks is organised and structured it doesn't really matter. Yeah as long as they cobble together any old s*** it's fine. f*** preparation, fitness and readiness for a new season through actual planning. But they have a month still to do all this planning. Pre-season doesn't start for another 5-6 weeks man.
WarrenBartonCentrePartin
don't see the point trekking all the way to Germany like we did last season to go white-water rafting then play some pisspot 9th Division team, though. Surely that can't improve fitness much at all? Might as well have gone and dicked about in the Lakes then played Kendal Town.
