BlueStar
Mike Anstead @mike_anstead 10m10 minutes ago Adam Johnson http://dailym.ai/1RofKEv I'd heard that during the trial, that he was being very arrogant and dismissive, yawning, joking about etc. Seeing as it wasn't reported, presumed there was some kind of block on it. geordiedean
To think in October this dirty dirty bastard ran the full length of the pitch mimicking an aeroplane to goad our fans after scoring knowing exactly what he'd done Seeing this cunt in highlight reels condemning us to defeat is fucking awful now Beaten by a nonce mackem

1964
They aren't pleading ignorance only that they did not know he was pleading guilty. They saw the condemning evidence last year and did nothing. They are a disgrace
xLiaaamx
I notice their statement dodges the fact he admitted the kiss. Just talks about the way he was going to plead.

loki679
Notable that they only deny knowing he was going to plead guilty, not addressing the claims made by Johnson that he told them about the kissing and showed them the grooming messages, the two counts he eventually pleaded guilty to. They mention receiving documents regarding the case. It's a pretty weaselly statement in that everything in it is likely true but still doesn't tell the whole story. The question isn't whether or not they knew how Johnson was going to plead, it's whether or not they knew that he was guilty.

Tsunami
Sunderland's statement is a woeful attempt at justifying unsuspending him and then playing him. It almost reads that he did well to continue to perform with the charges hanging over him. Shameful.

sbnufc
Another picked up on it: Andy Hughes @SkyAndyHughes 2m2 minutes ago #safc don't address whether Johnson told them about meeting up with schoolgirl, in this reaction to guilty verdict. Gonna be all over the media soon and they'll have to release another statement

Guest firetotheworks
Hold on...is he appealing the guilty verdict for the thing that he pleaded guilty to? Or another charge? Sorry for being a bit slow on this.
Figures 1-0 Football
If SAFC were being truthful, then they would be seeking legal action against Johnson. Their statement is utter, utter lies imo.
Guest antz1uk
thye should have dealt with the issue head on and taken the stick, now they are trying to avoid it the press will be like a dog with a bone.
