Just seen this(not sure its true)

Poyet 76 games at sunderland 23W 22D 31L

Pardews last 76 games 28W 11D 36L

Almost as terrible as each other really

Yet Pardew was under no pressure whatsoever. What a fucking joke.

And every man and his dog said our expectations were unrealistic

Advocaat such a strange appointment. He's been job hopping through international teams for years and even before that was manager of teams like Rangers and PSV. Not sure what they think equips him for a last minute relegation escape?

He's not Gustavo Poyet, just like for Villa their new manager would be anyone but Paul Lambert.

Will it not only be 'til the end of the season anyway?

Easy to make Pardew look bad if you cherry-pick such a small sample size as 2 seasons.

Guest Incandenza

An American owner needs a new coach to save his club from relegation. He appoints a disinterested, semi-retired  foreigner with an abrasive militaristic personality to manage the club's ill-fitted group of mercenaries and cokeheads.

Dick Advocaat :mackems:

Sportclub Telstar @sctelstar · 6m 6 minutes ago @SAFCsource BREAKING! Advocaat and assistent Petrovic on their way to Sunderland tonight. In front of the group tomorrow morning.

Sportclub Telstar @sctelstar  ·  6m 6 minutes ago

@SAFCsource Johan Derksen, one of main Dutch football journalists, just confirmed it live on tele. Former director Woerts set it up. #safc

You might be able to confirm/deny that.

Nothing in the Dutch media yet. Derksen is the chief editor of vi.nl, so if true they would have carried it

His reputation in Holland is that he will do anything if he gets paid enough. Should fit in well.

I don't particularly rate him as a manager. His defining moment as NT manager was taking off an unstoppable Arjen Robben vs Chech Republic in the 2004 Euros, resulting in a 3-2 loss after leading 2-0. Wouldn't want him here, even in our current predicament.

Yep, it's pretty much my only memory of that tournament. A fantastic match, with that lush Czech team.

Can currently lay Dick on Betfair at 1.5.

Betfair's rules say the next manager is who takes charge for the next 10 domestic games.

With only 9 games left and as long as he leaves at the end of the season there could be some money to be made.

Tempted to lump some on but still not sure.

Also wanted to warn anyone who may whack a load on backing him thinking it's easy money
