He was a shit signing by many measures but there's no way it can be considered a disaster. Without him we might still be in a relegation scrap. Howe seems to understand the importance of a club's culture & identity; I wouldn't be surprised to see him keep some unfashionable players around the place over the next few years who serve a utility purpose. He's not going to be the only average player in our squad we'd ideally look to replace with better.
