I read that Lyon were willing to do business with us and negotiate on the price (£15m -> £12m) but we offered a much lower fee with our usual take it or leave it approach. Another example of where we are so rigid with our valuations that we end up losing out on a player whose price increases very quickly afterwards. Whether the player wanted to come is another matter. It would have been mega money for us but in relation to the money we have within the club (excluding January '15 transfers) he'd have easily been affordable. Daft thing is had they bought him and he'd come in and played even half as well as he has done for OL they'd be frothing at how much profit he could be sold on for.
