The Managerial Merry Go Round™ - Eric ten Hag Sacked

Other than promotions and a sprinkling of cup competitions with Fiorentina and Valencia (hardly a slight on his coaching credentials), Ranieri's always been a nearly man.

Runner up with Chelsea to Arsenal invincibles, runner up with Juventus and Roma to Mourinho's dominant Inter, runner up with Monaco to PSG's unlimited budget.

He's had a career of doing very good, but not quite enough, and being confronted with dominant opposition. The Leicester success was a vindication of his career. To suggest he's not or hasn't been a good manager is ridiculous, even if it took a late career swansong and miracle season to finally get a title to prove it.

incredible thing to say that really, even if they'd not won last season ranieri is still a good manager by any objective standard like

An argument can be made that he's not quite cut out to manage really big clubs. But he's won loads of silverware in Italy and Spain (in addition to one of the greatest triumphs in football history). He's a very good manager who's shown consistency across nearly 30 years of management, despite massive changes to the game over that period of time. That's highly impressive.

Thought this poll was interesting.  Leicester fans were pretty unanimous in wanting him gone.

I fear it's already too late, but it's the only card we have left to play. Let's not leave it too late like Newcastle did last season.

Surprised at that. Being pretty much from there it's not the impression I got at all.

I think that internet polls attract a particular group of motivated supporters, and aren't necessarily representative of general opinion, which is usually more moderate and cautious. A bit like the difference between Labour party activists and Labour voters.

The reaction has been mad. You'd think they had sent him off to dignitas for fucks sake. They haven't scored a league goal in 2017 and it's nearly March. Was he going to turn it around? Probably not.

What are the board supposed to do? Sit around and pray he turns it around? Regardless of his achievements last season, they probably rightly considered relegation as unacceptable and if they thought they were heading that way, then its obviously the right decision.

They might still end up relegated anyway. In any case, they made their choice, hopefully they'll sink back into obscurity mired in the perennial relegation struggle clubs like that deserve. The players have won today, but within a season or so most of them will be yesterday's news just like the manager.

Ranieri at least deserved to see out the CL tie against Sevilla imho, they have a realistic chance of turning that one over.

This.

With the amount of names being banded about to replace him  it doesn't seem like they've any plan in place either.

It's difficult after Pardew to really be critical of other clubs on this kind of thing but this really does make me dislike Leicester.

Where's the connection with Pardew?

How much shit we got for being unhappy with Pardew despite his record breaking failures. Constantly being told 'But he got you to 5th you stupid cunts.'

Frankly if any Leicester fan wanted him gone they're utter scum and probably couldn't name a Leicester player prior to last season.

What a fucking load of absolute horseshite.  Always typical of you to discount how shite other fans or players are without even remotely looking at the circumstances.

The circumstances being Leicester fucking City won the league, were outside the relegation zone and have a reasonable chance of progressing to the QFs of the CL.

This is a fanbase that celebrated winning the league with clappers. The midlands is full of creeps and you know it Neesy.

Strong rumours that the Leicester players want Pearson back and he's highly likely to get the job

Incredible.

Its like someone took his lass, made her into the worlds best super model and then dumped her in a back alley and Pearson walks past, hear's her cries for help and takes her back.
