Honestly it can’t be underestimated how bad a job he’s made of it at Burnley this year. But, they see something which hasn’t been evidenced with his results, man management, tactics and motivation or player trading. Expand I wish him well but it seems absolutely staggering that Bayern paid nearly £11m to Burnley for the services of Kompany. If he was out of work and they picked him up for free it would still be a head scratcher but £11m?
Conjo
Plenty of big names has gotten jobs they didn't deserve, on even less merit than Kompany, and go on to do great things. Some football philosophies are more suited for players with more quality than what Burnley could muster in the PL. Think he'll do quite alright at Bayern. Expand I hope he does, maybe Bayern hired him on the basis of what he did at Anderlecht to be fair. I just think Burnley must think they won the lottery getting £10.8m for a manager after they have got relegated. Bayern just seem to be throwing money at everything and hoping it works. brummie
With Maresca, I think the interesting thing is that, even though he just got them promoted, Leicester fans don't seem that bothered - a bit like you'd be if Steve Bruce just got you promoted. Even taking into account the fact that almost all Leicester fans are a bunch of weird, whiney voiced, confused semi-yokels who point at planes and don't know how to do their shoe laces up, there's got to be something in that.
