They know their place and won't over-extend themselves like perhaps Leicester did. Fair play to them tbh, it's too easy to get carried away then get left in a mountain of debt if it goes sideways.

Have Leicester really over-extended themselves though?

The last analysis (a few months ago) showed they are about 400m in debt. Mostly owner provided loans, but there was nothing posted about how it got so high - the Amex only cost a quarter of that.

Edit: Found it

Swiss Ramble on Twitter: "Thread on Brighton and Hove Albion’s 2020/21 accounts, when they reduced their loss from £67m to £53m, as revenue rose £19m to club record £152m. Debt up to £374m, 4th highest in PL, mainly owed to owner Tony Bloom #BHAFC https://t.co/dFdIbcE1bU" / Twitter

Adam Lallana player manager until appointment is made loooooool

I genuinely hope this turns out to be a masterstroke.

I do feel for Brighton. They've essentially been ripped apart because they've done too well for themselves.

I know we were a part of it, but still..

Will be interesting to see how Brighton respond to this. Will they be able to maintain their performance and development, or will they stagnate and become mediocre before eventually getting relegated?:dontknow:

They’re definitely going to go backwards initially, it depends on the strength of the appointment as manager but they’ve lost too many key people to not end up bottom half now, no chance of relegation this season though

Brighton are a really well run club but I cannot see them coming back from this like. It's absolutely brutal.

I agree feel a bit sorry for Brighton. Hope the fuck nowt like this happens to us in a year or two. Suppose this is the cost of being a good manager, the top teams lie in wait! We just have to make sure we become a top team!

Suppose the difference with us is we should have the financial clout for more margin of error when replacing anyone who gets their head turned. Unfortunately Brighton don't have that wiggle room which makes it a lot more precarious.

They apparently already know exactly who they are bringing in.

I think they'll transition seamlessly and make everyone look silly for expecting a demise.
