Wallsendmag
I don't see the point in them paying £24m to sack Mourinho to bring in OGS until the end of the season. Surely they'd get a bigger points return just keeping hold of Mourinho then getting rid and appointing a full time manager in the summer.

He had lost the confidence of the board, the players and the fans. It would have been a disaster.

Don't think OGS will get them in the top 4 and I don't think he'll get them any further in the CL than Mourinho would have either.
Guest neesy111
The players had downed their tools, staff were unhappy, they had no option but to sack him. Gives them a chance to rebuild now.
Stifler
1000-1 for this lot to be relegated. I’ll take those odds. Waste of money.
ToonArmy1892
If they wouldn't play for Mourinho, why would they play for Solskjaer? Kind of hope he does alright like, and they give him it full time, would be hilarious.

jdckelly
Luke Edwards was championing Steve Bruce for the position, albeit in a caretaker role. him or Hughes makes more sense than Solskjaer

Si
How many seasons away are Man Utd away from viewing JFK like a pork chop in a Looney tunes cartoon.

Kind of hope he does alright like, and they give him it full time, would be hilarious. I wonder if one of the reasons for Mourinho's failure at Man Utd was down to not having at least one dog-obedient lieutenant on the pitch who would run through a brick wall for him and drag his teammates forward. Had Terry and Drogba at Chelsea, Materazzi at Inter, Ramos at Madrid, Carvalho obviously at a few clubs. Not much leadership in that ManUtd team I reckon and certainly no one for that role. AyeDubbleYoo
Mad appointment, don’t get why they wouldn’t just let Carrick keep it for the rest of the season. Hopefully OGS earns a permanent deal, that would be hilarious.
KaKa
They seem to be making a big deal of going the Director of Football route. I wonder if they are therefore just interested in having one of their own who has the most experience in management, and who will happily embrace the head coach role with an experienced number 2, and then the Director of Football playing a bigger role and controlling recruitment and influencing the style of play. Think they will give Solskjaer every chance to win the job operating in this kind of structure.

Kaizero
Also, this is a fucking manager loan after all He's not been released from his Molde contract, Man Utd are paying a loan fee, and barring any changes he'll return to Molde on June 10th. toon25
Their players are good enough for this to work out in the short term. The black cloud that abhorrent cunt has gone and the players will feel as though they can play with more freedom.
Guest
I don’t think he’ll be great but I think any manager would be able to go in and take the shackles off with the talent they have.
Stottie
They've got some winnable games coming up, so I hope he wins them (our game aside), they knee jerk on it, and give him the job permanently. It will set them back even further.

Guest neesy111
Quite comical despite how badly we are ran, we have a far better manager than Man Utd currently (the biggest football club in the world).
