They have no problems creating or scoring goals. Their problem is conceding goals.

The thing the Woy has always been adept at is making teams organised and difficult to play against. He's about as good an appointment as they could make in their current predicament.

Hodgson has win rates of 33% Palace, 37% WBA, 39% Fulham... If he can manage 30% win that could put Watford on at least 32 points, plus whatever draws they come about.

Think we really need Everton to appoint Ferguson until end of the season, and hope Brentford's slide continues. The more clubs down there come the 30 game mark the better for us.

Anyway, we just need to win games - give a fuck what other clubs are up too - doesn't change anything our end really.

I agree with you on the above, its the 'OMG we're down' I disagree with it.

Fair enough, that might have been an over-reaction but i was hoping they might make another shit appointment.

If we make some decent signings this week things might look more promising. If the playing staff of the two respective teams were to stay the same, and Watford got Woy, i would stand by my outlandish suggest that i think we'd drop

Agree with this.

It’s a really really solid appointment. They’ve got some good players and can create chances but they’re an absolute mess all over this field. Hodgson will sort that out.

I was hoping they’d go for a more risky choice.

I’m not particularly frightened of that appointment to be honest. I don’t think they have the quality palace had. However, he will tighten them up. We just need to focus on us, hodgson is neither here nor there.

Wonder how far in advance do they start putting out feelers?

Like now are they currently on to Frank Lampard saying keep Easter free as he might be needed? They always seem to have the next manager in place within a day. Crazy structure.

Not particularly enthused by them appointing a bona fide survival specialist; in fact I'd go as far as to say that they're now favourites for 17th at this precise moment, though that could change depending on our activity in the transfer market this week.

We really need to hope Brentford and Leeds get dragged into this fight. Everton present an opportunity for points in the immediate-term but they'll definitely pull away; they've far too much quality and are primed for a new manager bounce a la Villa.

Not surprising to see Watford sack Ranieri, as everyone knows the Pozzos are ruthless and don't buy into the 'manager needs time' thing. Am surprised they've gone for Hodgson though as he's basically the anthesis of their normal appointments. He'll be gone by the end of the season.

Hodgson is a fairly inoffensive type, and Watford have made some decent signings. All he really needs to do is get them somewhat organised and not piss them off.
