It’s not even November so you can’t really say they’re in a relegation battle, and most likely won’t be. Why not hire someone for the long term, unless nobody wanted it and Dyche was the only one. Completely undone all the good will of getting back into Europe and now they’ll probably languish in that 11th-15th range for the foreseeable. That Allardyce played the worst football I’ve seen in my time supporting the club. Maybe I’m blinkered as I was going fairly regularly when he was appointed. But Derby, Fulham and Wigan away are probably in my top ten worst NUFC games I’ve been to. Not in terms of the result. As I’ve seen far worse hidings and we even won at Fulham But just for how bad we were and how awful the game was. I remember home games against Wigan and City that were similarly shite. Wasn’t at the Pompey 1-4 thank fuck. I think it was as bad as Bruce. Possibly even worse. I find him even more insufferable than Souness and all. Pardew was a tit but we did genuinely have 1-2 good seasons with him, probably one actually. But we played good football and beat a lot of the so called big 6 that year. McClaren ended up being a tit but there was a little bit of hope there and we made some good signings that summer. He was just too shit to do anything with them.
