Dyche keeps them up, but then inevitably gets potted next season when they're bottom six again a few months into the season.

Dangling the carrot of Mancini in the press also  absolutely horrid if you're a Forest fan.

Actually feel for Forest fans. The Ange appointment was always going to be a disaster, and now they're in a worse position and have had to scrape the barrel. They'll be fine in terms of relegation, you'd think, but what a drop off from last year's success.

Tbf Dyche isn't exactly that much of a step down, if at all, from Nuno and his shite style. Forest are basically resetting with Dyche, looking to stay up, and then going again next season.

At least he has admitted his mistake early, which seemed obvious in the first place to everyone on the outside, and got rid of him.

I'm not sure what sensible manager opts to work with Marinakis though. Dyche would seem like a sound enough option to get them out of the relegation zone and, you'd imagine, would probably take it knowing it's a short term appointment in all likelihood.

But to what extent are their better players likely to want to hang on for a season of scrapping to stay up?
