Jealous of that Chelsea decision. Being able to see when it's all over.

Such an easy person to absolutely hate.

Chelsea were a top 6 team most of my childhood. Winning cups. Finished 4th the season before Abramovic joined.

We were a top 3 team when they were a top 8 team before that.

A young manager building their CV would be mad to go there. Amazing wage and a high upside sure, but the club is toxic.

I am sure Rosenior is glad to be out there - financially he's set for life.

Surely Iraola already had something lined up... unless he knew that the chop was coming for Rosenior in advance.

Iraola isn't going near Chelsea - he's far too smart for that

No manager who wants to further their career should go there. If you just want a quick payoff, maybe.

Bruce: quick payoff did you say?

If anyone thinks we have a chance with Iraola, Chelsea will be in for him and probably Man United. If Arsenal fuck royally up they might be in and maybe Real Madrid and some of the Italian giants. Liverpool might get rid of Slut and so on and so forth.

In spite of this Rosenior debacle, I’m pretty sure we’ll see a continuing trend of “company men” being hired by the bigger clubs in an attempt to make the general structure so strong a head coach doesn’t matter all that much. That includes us. I’ll bet there will be a “mutual agreement” declaration before the season ends and a pretty random continental head coach hired who’s supposed to work extremely close with a range of coaches and directors.

They were London’s fourth biggest club and had won fewer major trophies than Huddersfield during my childhood, and I was born in the ‘80s.  They weren’t bigger than us when Abramovich came in.

Just to tack on, surely 5th or maybe 6th for that era?

Guess it depends on when in the 80s you were born but Arsenal, Spurs, West Ham, QPR, Wimbledon (owld Wimbledon not AFC) were all bigger in my mind. Would love for QPR to become something again.

Eye of the beholder like you say - I was born in ‘82 - but Arsenal, Spurs and West Ham were London’s biggest to most people.  After that - it was much of a muchness -  Chelsea have always had decent gates which would put them ahead of the others, but they didn’t have much of a history.
