Wullie
Loads of positives for England. Play like that against the other two and we go through. I agree. We've been sucker punched tonight really, we had the majority of the fret.
Stifler
Best performance in defeat we have had in ages....bit more cutting edge from strikers, bit more desire to get on the end of things and who knows. Positives for me. After the disgrace of 4 years ago this is a million miles from that. Its all about the next Euros and 2018. Yep. The old guard of Gerrard etc. weren't good enough in their prime but they're doing a nurturing job and like you say 2016 onwards should be even better. If this squad is being thrown together for 2016/2018 in mind then Gerrard shouldn't be in the squad.

Hanshithispantz
Also, Rooney never left 2010. Drop him Roy. I've championed for Rooney recently but he was fucking horrible today like He needs to wind his neck in.
Robster
Why do they keep talking about hot and humid? It's in the 80s and 70 some odd percent humidity. Er... Not that bad, frankly. Are you aware of the weather in England

Gallowgate Toon
Too soft in the middle, needed a more savvy defending midfielder there to cover space left open. Promising but we need some work. Let's just play people in their right positions and aim for balance.

Might want to see the normal conditions in England, particularly during the football season.

It's why Lampard is there. And it's why Ashley Cole should've been there.

jdckelly
Italy managed the heat and humidity much better than England who looked dead in their feet by 75-80 mins. Also I love Pirlo what a player

Sifu
Shearer not holding back like I prefer him this way - speaking his real opinion rather than just saying something generic and adhering to some sort of norm.
KaKa
Rooney was okay, still think putting him on the left was a mistake, and unnecessary. Sterling would have been just as good on the left. Rooney would have benefitted from being central, with the pace of Welbeck, Sturridge and Sterling around him.
Ronaldo
As if Leighton fucking Baines is our starting LB, man.
tmonkey
Think the "Rooney wide left when defending" tactic really cost us - nearly every good attack from the Italians came down their right. Didn't need a defensive player there, just someone who actually knows how to play on that side of the pitch.
oldtype
England was much better than expected and Italy was nothing special. I'd back England to beat Uruguay and Costa Rica

The Prophet
As if Leighton f***ing Baines is our starting LB, man. He was ripped apart but the midfield balance was wrong and he got zero protection as a result.
54
Well that's annoying, thought it was a good game for a neutral tbh, we deserved something from that game we were the better team overall, I can see this being a very open group as I can't see Italy winning all of there games. Sterling looked good, was probably our best player. Still a good chance of England going through.
Bad Mongo
I thought England were pretty good. Loads of pace, creating a few chances when countering. I also think Pirlo is the coolest footballer on the planet, but that's hardly controversial.
