Guest bimpy474
Shame Farringdon's no longer a journo locally.
Dokko
Neil Farrington is laying into AP. Neilfarrington: Pardew should be kissing feet of the people still prepared to ask him questions, not banning them, the shameless yes man that he is. #nufc Neilfarrington: Hapless, plan B-less, snake oil-selling shyster. His posturing sums up the contempt that club has for the people it hurt today. #nufc Holy shit.
Minhosa
Ashley is known to hate the press from his professional life too. He's the orchestrator of this policy, not the 4 bellends working for him.

Deuce
Wish I could limit press freedom when it suited me.
Guest palnese
Would love to see Caulkin's reaction to this. He'd probably get The Times banned as well.
Minhosa
Would love to see Caulkin's reaction to this. He'd probably get The Times banned as well. Might as well all go for it. That would be the nuclear option from NUFC but they would do it.
Anderson
Would love to see Caulkin's reaction to this. He'd probably get The Times banned as well. Caulkin and Bird having their say too: George Caulkin @CaulkinTheTimes Absolutely disgraceful. Two local journalists prevented from asking questions to Alan Pardew. Evening Chronicle, Journal & Sunday Sun are presently banned from St James' and manager's press conferences. This is allegedly because of Chronicle's coverage of anti-Ashley march. Petty, pathetic and bullying tactics. Simon Bird @simonbirdmirror 9m Pardew #nufc refusing to take questions from the Journal/local press @MsiDouglas Not the time to make such a stand. Now #nufc press officer intervenes to stop questions from @lee_ryder Oh dear. Poor. #nufc chiefs clearly don't believe in free press. Chronicle coverage of march was actually well balanced. Tactics of the bully. Pardew's going be talking to an empty room next week at this rate.
Yorkie
That march was funny, mind. Bloke at the front of the parade: "Get out of my club and take your poxy merchandise that I spent £50 on and am wearing right now with you!"
Guest Slippery Sam
Hopefully this is the time the local press grew some and told things for what they actually are. We are a mid-table-persuing club with no intention of trying to better ourselves, managed by a lower-to-mid-table fraud of a manager. Quite why people pay money into this lot completely bewilders me. Unbelievable
The noose is tightening on these cunts in charge of this great club.
oldtype
Monumentally stupid move from the club. Could be the beginning of the end for Ashley this.
Gallowgate Toon
Oh dear, Mike's so precious. Brilliant comments from Farrington though.
BONTEMPI
Time for the fans to ban the club tbh. Run it down, anything to get that fat cunt out and his cronies. We won't as a whole because there's too many blind fuckers out there.
Kanji
Neilfarrington: @PaddyJGraham @wendytaylor13 It's the manager's prerogative re who answers to at a press conference. But he does someone else's bidding.. McNallyMirror: Banning your local papers when your fans are up in arms & your team has just put in another crap Derby display is dumb PR. #nufc never learn Neilfarrington: Difference between this and previous bannings, coming after that fiasco, is it transparently shows nobody @ #nufc gives the slightest s**t. Neilfarrington: @NUFCinnocent He has the power to say who he will take questions from. Today of all days, he needed to be bigger than that.
oldtype
Part of the reason the sort of discontent that's prevalent on this forum rarely if ever transferred to the larger public over the years is because the local press has done such a good job of shielding the club. Like it or not most people's perception of things is colored by the stuff they read in the papers every day. If the local press start actively fomenting discontent the attitude on the street will change markedly. Eventually it will attract national coverage and they'll have a Gillet/Hicks at Liverpool situation on their hands.

Ronaldo
Eventually it will attract national coverage and they'll have a Gillet/Hicks at Liverpool situation on their hands. Kanji
Need to send Neil some messages of thank you, he's absolutely spot on with his comments. I hope more press do the same, this needs to be a Hicks/Gillet Liverpool situation, it needs to be talked about every day in the press, and hopefully some opportunistic businessman or company steps in and buys us. oldtype
Good points about the bank and such...totally different situations. Not comparing the situations per se but I'm talking about the press creating the impression that somebody's a bad owner. The image the press creates is incredibly influential to the casual public. Life becomes much more difficult for owners when that happens.
