Mostly when i've watched them with an analytical eye under Anorim, they always seem to just lack control. Poor and rushed in possession. Only really dangerous on the counter or from a moment from Fernandes or Amad. Everything looks chaotic and frenetic, like he's guessing where to put which pieces on the chess board. Often find myself wondering how spectacularly it can go wrong on a given day, can't imagine being emotionally invested in them.

Zirkzee is a much better player than Hojlund.

Not much between them tbh, but are extremely different players in what they offer, so it feels weird that the manager doesn't really know which one he prefers. It should be obvious depending on what he wants from a striker.

The thing is Man Utd are a graveyard for even top talent, have been for ages now, so the likes of those two don't really stand a chance particularly with the expectations of the level required. At another lesser club I'm sure they'd both be doing OK.

He has a very specific way of playing, and the players he's got are either not suited to it, or haven't bought in at all. I. don't think that means he's a bad manager, Howe and Iraola also struggled early on to impose their systems on players who weren't used to it. Man U fans and their owner will need a lot of faith and perseverence if they really believe in Amorin.

Actually ... let me rephrase.

I think he's trying to get himself sacked, so he can get his pay off and get the hell out of there

Yep and I don't know if he has the pragmatism to just play a basic system, get a few wins and get to the summer where he can mold his squad to be more suited to his philosophy.

Now that he’s had a little time to look at it from the inside out! Poison chalice.

Nah, they won't sack him like and nor should they. He's inherited ten Hag's sack of shit and hasn't had the chance to remove that stench before he even tries to implement his own stamp on his squad. I know he's brought his system with him and he's adamant that he's not changing it in any way - it's admirable but by coming out so publically and insisting on it he's painted himself into a corner, managers and players know exactly what's coming meaning they're predictable and if he does change it it looks 'weak' because he's insisted he won't. Even if it's the right thing to do, he's tied his own hands together.

Also, I know that squad isn't suited to that formation but surely players costing millions and millions of pounds can be sat down and told how to modify their normal game. Insanely talented players should be able to make a decent fist of adjusting their game using their skills and doing the job that's being asked of them rather than just doing their normal thing? Blaming the players for not being able to slightly change the way they play is about a damning criticism as you can get - running/working, controlling, passing and shooting the football are basics that they should all be excellent at - yes the tactical/positioning side of things needs a bit of time but they're stinking the place out

If Man Utd (or Spurs) win the Waffa Cup this year, and if the PL coefficient is highest, will 5th still get a CL place? Wrong thread to ask, I know.

Tbh Rafa Benitez would have sorted this out and made them tough to beat and winning again

hes had poor talent in his last few jobs

would have been a safer pair of hands than Amorim

Not only that, as professionals making a huge wedge, they should want to adapt, learn new systems, become more than they currently are. There's not an industry on the planet pays more and yet so many involved don't want to, or can't be arsed, to be open to new ideas. Almost like once they've got the fat contract, why bother?
