I like how they still have a fan zone underneath the roof/canopy, and I like the wrap around displays which are the modern and less obstructive way of having screens. Is it actually going to be a fanzone though, or is it just a club store in a separate building?

Overall the design is a bit shit like. As someone has said, it’s like a circus tent, and it is, well a circus tent, a bit of the Millennium dome, and Royal Quays outlet park.

I’d hope that our owners have a better design in mind for our stadium.

I love how on back to back days, the owner simultaneously said they needed to cut 300 jobs otherwise they'd go out of business, then followed it up by announcing a 100000 all seater stadium

5 years they'll be in a new stadium.  Absolutely no chance.

Not a fucking chance.

They are at least 5 years away from moving the rail yard out.

We’ll be in our new stadium before they are.

Exactly it's 3 years and counting for our considerably richer owners to even decide if any movement is going on. If we got a decision tomorrow we're probably looking at 7-8 years at best for a new home, and probably 10 to stay where we are

The stadium, and wider regeneration project, have the potential to deliver an additional £7.3bn per year to the UK economy which brings large-scale social and economic benefits to the community and wider region, including the possible creation of 92,000 new jobs, more than 17,000 new homes as well as driving an additional 1.8 million visitors annually.

What?

Well...apparently company that was going out of business by Xmas without sacrificing however many people to save a few maybe a couple of million a year ( no smart arse figures please) while still spending 100s millions a year on wages can suddenly commit to a multi billion project.

As some one commented before total David Brent...struggling salesman on bicycle or newer flasher car etc...

Well as its widely said...you don't get to be a billionaire by spending your own money

Absolutely incredible if Labour agree to this shite. Surely they can get some offshore funding similar to what Levy did with New White Hart Lane

Doesn’t fit their narrative of being open for rebuilding, giving money to their mates, and investing in the North Manchester.

This exactly the kind of stupidity Labour will approve. Then when they get voted out come election time for having wasted money on the project will proceed to blame the previous govt for not funding the North.  While whichever set of jizz monkeys that comes in will have to continue to fund, while being battered by Labour for continuing to wast money on a Labour approved taxpayer funded backhander for a massively rich Frank Gallagher lookalike

There's not a decent political party in this country,  but one thing you can guarantee is that Labour will spend your money now and your future money and improve the grand total of sod all

Well, there’s good news and bad news. The bad news is that the club is absolutely skint, so we're implementing sweeping cost cutting measures and most of you will lose your jobs. Those of you who are kept on won't get any free lunches, if you wanna stay.

I know, gutting. On a more positive note, the good news is, we're building a £2bn megadome that looks like a circus big top. So, every cloud…

You’re still thinking about the bad news, aren’t you?

Will the Glazers just sit back and watch this happen whilst still getting their yearly dividend and racking up more debt ?

Are they not liable to the debt ? seems like they are getting away with the perfect crime

So, a prefab stadium with a plastic bag on top stuck on by 3 tentpoles for £2bn (funding tbc), at the worst time in years to be taking on more debt. Plus it looks absolutely terrible.

I'm all in favour of this [emoji38]

One minute: "Sorry Mrs Dinner Lady, we'll be bust by Christmas if we don't get your £13 an hour off the wage bill"

Next day: "OMG WE ARE BUILDING A BILLION CAPACITY STADIUM ON THE MOON!111!!11"
