Fair enough on Pogba like (though he wasn't a patch on Scholes at the time. Had he been more patient he'd have been a starter sooner rather than later), but Pique was on his way with us. He just wanted to go back to Spain. Nothing you can do, and I'm fairly sure they had a buy back option.

We didn't.

A real shame about Pogba (from your perspective). You've lacked central midfield quality since Scholes left (the second time). He's not a like-for-like replacement (there's too few like Scholes about in general, and fewer still of anything approaching his calibre) but what a smoother transition Man Utd might have made from the Ferguson era to this one with Pogba to take over from Scholes.

Incredible to think that they had Pogba and Pique, and didn't given them a chance/let them slip away.

Same with Giuseppe Rossi to a degree, had he not had bones formed from Weetabix.

:pilko: Oh he could have had it all. :p

no, he quite literally couldn't have gone to man utd and played for his hometown team for +10 years becoming their all time greatest scorer and living legend in his city of birth

i know you were just kidding like

dreaming of the day everyone stops getting worked up over transfer fees in the richest age of football history like

benteke has scored around 1 in 2 for close to the worst team in the for the last 3 seasons or whatever it's been and he's 24 years old...we're sniffing around a probably mental serbian who has never scored in the PL and we'll probably have to pay 15m to get him

it's what shit costs in the PL...no point in going to norway then complaining about how much a pint costs

Yep, would absolutely love Salah. Does he want to go somewhere specific?

I think he wanted to go to Roma, basically Fiorentina paid 1m euros as a loan fee but Salah refused to go.

Fiorentina then requested another player on loan (Loftus-Cheek if you believe the Football Italia website) and requested that Chelsea block Salah's move to Roma, I think Inter were sniffing around too.

Or something like that.

EDIT: Wrong way around :

Fiorentina won’t sue Chelsea, but in return want Ruben Loftus-Cheek on loan and veto Mohamed Salah to Inter, which lets in Roma.

The transfer saga reaches a head today, as Salah officially refuses to attend pre-season training in Florence.

As the Viola have already paid the €1m to extend his loan by 12 months, and their lawyers insist Salah missed his deadline for the power of veto over the move, this sparks legal action.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Fiorentina have presented an intriguing set of conditions to Chelsea in order to avoid FIFA arbitration and a potential six-month ban for the Egypt international.

The first criterion is to receive a different player on loan for €1m, as promised in the terms of the Juan Guillermo Cuadrado sale in January.

It’s reported the man they want in place of Salah is 19-year-old England midfielderLoftus-Cheek.

The Viola ask for a ‘value’ payment for improving Salah’s price-tag while he spent six months playing regularly in Florence.

They also require that Salah be barred from joining Inter this summer, a club they openly accused of trying to illegally poach while under contract.

However, Fiorentina would allow a transfer to a different Serie A rival, namely Roma, who behaved ‘better’ in the entire saga.
