You can’t count that man! 😂

Fair enough :) - but fuck me, the ‘he played for Sunderland he can’t play for us’ patter is bizarre

I’ll replace Steve Howey with Shay Given, who would never have been allowed to sign on that rule :)

Absolutely.

Do we apply the same logic the other way? Should we detest Andy Cole, David Kelly and Lee Clark? What about Chris Waddle? Or is it ok provided you start at Newcastle?

Loads of players have played for both. Yeah it annoys me when it's a good player or someone I like, but come on. If someone offered me £50k/week to pull on a red and white top I'd be there like a shot.

FTM t-shirt too? Hell, for that money I'd get a fucking tattoo.

I'm 100% convinced the secret footballer was talking about this bitch when he talked about players intentionally running without any purpose during games just to pad their distance covered stat in order to get picked to play back when match data was a lot more limited. Bet he gets off to the thought of killing puppies and still eats his own boogers. Cack Jogback will live rent free in my head for as long as I live, the ginger cunt, and I hate him even more for it.

Yes, I’m glad I never saw Paul Bracewell, Barry Venison or Steve Howey in B&W

I was too young to really remember these. Though none of them really strike me as must-knows.

Is it really that bizarre? If Shearer fucked off to Sunderland for the twilight of his career would it change my view of him and his legacy? Of course it fucking would.

Same applies to those who come from the mackems. Can agree to disagree though. :p

Wasn't Given there for a handful of games on loan?

A nothing footballer whose main contribution from the top of my head was giving daft fouls in dangerous areas away and getting yellow cards for them. He was actually not that bad by Ashley era standards in 2014/15 but still. Representative of the era.

Him on that pod will likely be him slagging Benitez off for wanting rid of him after promotion in 2017. Can’t wait for the fewm that will fester upon seeing a clip of it on Twitter.

Given was there on loan, and was a clearly a cracking goalie at that age.

If you think Bracewell, Venison, Howey aren’t ‘must knows’ in terms of NUFC (recent) history, I don’t know what to say :)

It wouldn’t have bothered me one iota if Shearer went to Sunderland.  I saw Lee Clark do it - and unlike Shearer (who seemed to throughly enjoy his goal which cost us European qualification in ‘95, and also scoring at the Gallowgate vs us for Blackburn) Clark had stayed at NUFC as a kid.  I never saw Shearer as a big, daft Geordie - he signed for us because we were a big club willing to pay big money (and tbf Jack Walker also wouldn’t sell to Man Utd for the same money), then knacked his knee a year into his contract and was no longer in that elite bracket of centre-forwards who could sign for anyone.

The biggest stand at SJP is named after a boyhood Sunderland fan - make sure you call it the ‘west stand’ ;)

The only questions being asked in the comment section are from the Forest lot. The rest are just Newcastle and Sunderland fans calling him a cunt. Hard to tell what set of fans hate him more [emoji38] Stifler might be the only bloke in the North east who likes him.

Signs for "Anstey Nomads".

Nasty as demons?

Here's what an opposing manager wrote about them last season.

"Anstey’s facilities are as bad as anything we’ve encountered in years, changing rooms, showers, dugouts were filthy, warm up area dangerous and totally unfit for purpose and the pitch was worst we’ve had all season, albeit that doesn’t make one iota difference to the result but standards need to be better surely."
