Alan Pardew: "I'd like to see him [Mbeumo] in a Man United shirt. We need a big Man United. The Premier League needs a big Man United. Just for historical net levels, I want a big Man United"

Always liked wor Alan.

 the man’s commitment to being an asshole is commendable

Same with his weird obsession about bringing a left back on as sub.  It must have worked one time and he kept repeating the same "tactic" over and over despite it never working again.

He had no idea what he was doing.

Was just telling my wife about that lol. Fucking like for like sub of the left back on 62 minutes every single game.

I'm convinced he was just trying to look like he's doing his job but had no idea what else to do.

Fucking hell man [emoji38]

The nicest thing I can say about Pardew is that as much as I was relieved when he fucked off I was also filled with this gut wrenching fear of we could end up with someone even worse, the trauma must have ran deep for me to be on the road to "better the devil you know"

Definitely the sort of thing he'd say as well. Proper real life Partridge

I'm in the minority but I didn't mind him. Nowhere near one of my most disliked NUFC managers. Plus I met him once in the Black Bull in Benton one Friday afternoon as he had popped in after training. He ended up sitting at the table with me and my mate and he was sound.

Always speaks highly of us and fights our corner in the media as well, unlike cunts like Bruce and Souness.

I had a soft spot for the prick as well, probably for "shut your noise you fucking old cunt" alone. That and the first five months with Cisse I suppose

I hated him when he was here, absolutely despised him. Now I don’t mind him so much as he speaks highly of us and isn’t a bitter bastard like Souness or Allardyce.

Was buzzing when he left. Shake Ashley replaced him with Carver and then McLaren.

Time has been kind to Pardew. His reputation has been somewhat repaired with us because he speaks highly of us and he isn't Steve Bruce but let's not forget how utterly depressing his tenure was here after 2012.

He made me fall out of love with the game.

I hated him then and I hate him now when he pops up on those adverts with Big Sam and the other relic from the dinosaur age. Is it Pulis?

Didn't even want to click this thread but in the end curiosity got the better of me.

He genuinely does stick up for us mind.

Not a great manager and he took some stick whilst here, but due the arrogance of him I’m not sure it even fully registered and it certainly doesn’t now.

Every chance he gets he puts a good word in. There’s footage somewhere of Souness sounding off like a baby about us being a small club and Pardew wasn’t having any of it. Mind even Souness seems to have cooled off nowadays. It’s solely Bruce who is on his endless campaign to stick the boot in.

I hate Pardew most out of all the Ashley-era managers. I hate him more than Bruce, more than McClaren, more than Carver. I hate him more than Joe Kinnear. Don't like the notion of rehabilitating him on the grounds that his cheeky spiv personality marks him out as "bit of a character", an attribute that - when you encounter it in the real world - is the sole preserve of utter cunts.

He most likely 'sticks up for us' because he's a fucking coward. He hasn't got Teflon coating of the likes of Souness, who's more than happy to stick the boot in, or crybaby Brucie who wants the world to feel sorry for him.

This bloke just wants an easy ride and not to have any grief from a fan base who - rightly - saw him for the charlatan and chancer he is.

His 'punditry' is as gutless as his football.

Same. I helped out with the pardewout leaflet distribution I hated him that much 😅 but can’t help but warm to the cunt now, always speaks highly of us. Can’t remember who it was but he had a bit of back and forth with another pundit when he was saying SJP is the best atmosphere in the country.
