Nobody
It was a dive, therefore, not a penalty. It's black and white. The keeper should have tried to stay on his feet though. You give the modern footballer a chance like that and they're going down. Well yeah, if the "modern footballer" is a massive cheat like Wayne Rooney. Or Steven Taylor, aye. They're all massive cheats. Lazy comeback. Aye, not the best come back considering everyone here hates Steven Taylor And it was 10 years ago. Shameful stuff from The Frog. Which makes it even worse. Diving wasn't as prevalent as it is now. If you're going to try and tell me Newcastle players don't dive I'm out. I genuinely can't think of one dive this season from a NUFC player that was anywhere near as bad as Rooney's tonight.
Ndegwa
Careless challenges don't need to make contact. Neither do reckless challenges. And attempting to trip an opponent is a foul even if you fail. Rule 12. You're assuming the keeper was attempting to trip an opponent rather than going for the ball? Rooney dangles his leg, it's a dive.
Greg
Direct free kick A direct free kick is awarded to the opposing team if a player commits any of the following seven offences in a manner considered by the referee to be careless, reckless or using excessive force: • kicks or attempts to kick an opponent • trips or attempts to trip an opponent • jumps at an opponent • charges an opponent • strikes or attempts to strike an opponent • pushes an opponent • tackles an opponent A direct free kick is also awarded to the opposing team if a player commits any of the following three offences: • holds an opponent • spits at an opponent • handles the ball deliberately (except for the goalkeeper within his own penalty area) A direct free kick is taken from the place where the offence occurred (see Law 13 – Position of free kick). Penalty kick A penalty kick is awarded if any of the above ten offences is committed by a player inside his own penalty area, irrespective of the position of the ball, provided it is in play

I woudl expect Ayoze or Cisse to hit the deck in that situation
Ndegwa
What? He really doesn't. If you watch it in real time, it's a 50/50 that Rooney wins with his extra pace. The keeper goes for the ball, how could you possibly say otherwise? You must be on the wind up, your opinions on football are nuts
SEMTEX
An "attempted trip" by a goalkeeper, in the box. Aye. I don't know why we entertain these cretins.
Anon
Finally seen the Rooney dive. Not sure why it's even an argument, it's exactly the same as all his other dives: https://www.youtube.com/ watch?v=w-mPp-RS7SU
Flip
Chelsea: Courtois; Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry ©, Azpilicueta; Ramires, Matic; Willian, Fabregas, Hazard; Diego Costa. PSG: Sirigu; van der Wiel, Silva, Marquinhos, Maxwell; David Luiz, Verratti, Matuidi; Lavezzi, Ibrahimovic, Cavani. About time Marquinhos starts centrally. Mourinho with his typical defensive line-up in the CL as well.
Ryan
Best thing for the tie would be an early PSG goal.

Nobody
Chelsea really hasn't got any intentions of attacking tonight, just happy to keep the ball as soon as they get it. Problem for the game is that PSG are scared to death of conceding a goal at home.
