Wallace
At least he doesn't have to suffer Pardew's "adoring" eyes anymore.
Guest chicken little
In fairness I doubt he sold himself as 'out for months before really kicking a ball' either good point, well made

Guest reefatoon
Looks more like a reaction to Carver's team talk.
toontownman
Reaction to Carver telling him he better knuckle down because things will be different with Carver in charge full time.

thomas
what's his alleged "position" ?
Guest n4e
what's his alleged "position" ? Number 10. Similar to Sigurdsson at Swansea, although I think he's more of a poacher type.

loki679
So what are we looking at (assuming everyone is fit)? Something like: Perez Aarons Cabella De Jong Sissoko Abeid Probably Tiote or Colback in for Abeid like. Knowing us it'll probably be: Perez Cabella Sissoko De Jong Colback Tiote
Foluwashola
Desperately need this bloke to deliver. Provide some penetration Siem. Deep penetration.
Fenham Mag
Perez should not be up front on his own, he is better deeper.
Guest ManDoon
Perez should not be up front on his own, he is better deeper. Yup. Watching us hump long balls up to him was depressing
AyeDubbleYoo
I want De Jong to play right up off the striker, but we really don't have the personnel for a midfield 4. I don't even like Cabella as a wide player in that system. Sissoko doesn't work wide and I can't see De Jong being asked to be a genuine CM.

Whether he'll be asked to it he could do it just fine, him and Sissoko in a midfield 3 with Abeid behind them would be great IMO. Of course it's probably too much "fret" for Carver and company. Belfast Boy
Unfortunately it seems De Jong is another player best played behind a "hold it up" front man. If we aren't going to buy one of them, I can't see what formation he, or Perez, would be best suited in.
Guest palnese
Sissoko Abeid Cabella De Jong Perez new striker I'd set us up like that. Cabella and Perez can go wherever they want, with fullbacks providing the width.
Wallace
To me he is a write off for this season. It will take time for him to get match fit and they will need to bring him back carefully so he doesn't break down again and also he needs to "adapt" to the League as he has scarcely played. Was thinking this as well, throw Aarons into the mix as well as Cisse if he stays and we have a potent midfield and attack. Unless Carver is in charge then they'll just look clueless. Interpolic
When's he back, getting a bit daft now. Same with Aarons and Santon, although at least the latter's now on the bench.
