HawK
I swear it's easier to shift players in real life than in FM. No chance of any fee in the game
Guest Howaythetoon
How much did we pay for him? I think like Viana before him, he's just not suited to the PL. His brother was awful mind, I remember a shot he had that was more like a back pass, the 'keeper actually controlled it with his cap.
Guest firetotheworks
Viana's an odd comparison, mind. De Jong just wasn't ever available enough to make any concrete judgement on him, tbf. Definitely for the best that he's moved on though.

Definitely for the best that he's moved on though. I loved Viana and think in the right set up he could have worked, same with SDJ, but who is going to build a team around such a player? Likewise Veron at Man Utd. Players like that need time and space and lots of it and less physicality as possible.

Hhtoon
Thank f***, I was growing weary of the Siem injury jokes. Feels like this was 135 pages of injury lols and 7 actual football exploits.

Figures 1-0 Football
Interested to know what he meant with 'by my own doing'. An indication that he's not been putting everything in? Would explain why Rafa has never fancied him.

Twinport53
He's just saying that apart from the injuries he was sometimes absolutely cack in black and white. He missed an absolute sitter against somebody shite like Swansea. A back post header from about 14 inches and he put it confidently wide. Was harder to miss. Sammys_Tekkers
Have no hard feelings towards him about his time here, but I'm glad he's gone. Hope he manages to put his injury troubles behind him.

Stifler
I'm glad he's gone but have no ill feelings towards him and wish him well. His failure here was more down to injuries and just not adapting, rather than not bothering to try.

The Holland international was told he was surplus to requirements at Newcastle United last summer after returning from a loan stint with PSV Eindhoven. De Jong, 29, spent three injury-ravaged years with the Magpies and was told not to expect game-time with Newcastle last summer. And his return to the Netherlands hasn’t worked out either after earning legendary status in his first stint at the club. Ajax’s director of football Marc Overmars has confirmed De Jong is now expected to sign for the Australian A League outfit. Sydney’s Steve Corica said: “He has got a very good pedigree. “We’re looking for players like that, we want good quality coming to the club. “Hopefully in the next three or four days we can confirm who the marquee will be, but he’s one of the players that we have spoken to, but there’s been quite a few of them. “We’ve looked at over 450 players this season, so it’s been a long journey and there’s still more coming in at the moment. “We’ve just got to take our time and make sure we get the right player that fits into the way we want to play.”
