toontownman
Just like the strikers with the wingers, wingers were pointless and ineffective because of the piss weak and woeful central midfield. Zero protection for the back? Zero creativity or possession to help the front. Desperately need a ball player back there with Tiote. Anita is nice and neat but rarely effects the play as much as we need him too, likewise his inferior left footed version colback. Not convinced sissoko is the right person either. Doesn't really fit anywhere with the "tactics" pardew employs.

Dokko
The lack of formation, or understanding of it killed us today. No discipline, no one positioned correctly and a serious lack of gameplan...it was amateur hour. Feeble stuff. You'd think these lot had been picked out the stands to have a kick around, I've seen more organisation in the soccer aid matches, Malaga couldn't understand what was going on it was too easy. It's a friendly, but really fitness and form should be in question not organisation, why do we look a total mess every pre season under Pardew? He needs to treat it semi serious, play strong teams with inclusions of new guys and young lads, keep the experimental shite for the b team games. Guest firetotheworks
Just something I've noticed (and it might just be a coincidence) but people like that guy going on the rant about keyboard warriors tend to really struggle with there, they're and their and so on. Just finished watching it, TT about sums it up for me. Was like a bunch of fans having a kick about. Aarons was the only player who looked half decent, the defending was pure comedy. sturla
Judging by this display we will desperately struggle for goals with this squad. This is still pre-season though.
Gallowgate Toon
To be fair, we played a bit of a mishmash side, attacking wise. Our main playmaker went off the pitch when our senior striker(s) came on. It was just a bit of a shambles, really.
binnsy
I still can't see why when we are playing 2 games in 2 days we just split the teams in half seniors and half kids, Pardew came out after the game saying he is taking the blame for playing two kids up front but he played 4 of his most experienced defenders today so will he play the kids at the back tomorrow. why not start Colo today and play one of Satka or Streete alongside him and then tomorrow bring start Williamson and Taylor before making changes in the 2nd half. Same with up front, start with Ayoze and Riviere today and then on Sunday play Gouffran and Armstrong. the whole set up, formation, tactics today were just a shambles but hardly a shock with Pardew as manager. Memphis
Seems like a waste of a good opportunity yet again. We have rarely, if ever, done anything productive in preseasons past under Pardew. Even prior to the 11-12 campaign, the preseason tour in America was a complete disgrace travel-wise and preparation-wise (and I was in Kansas City to see it). So today we set out a side with MYM yet again out of position despite having tons of evidence that he's never a fullback; we used a central defensive partnership that we've seen a lot and know is suspect, instead of using that chance to either see a younger player like Satka or MYM with one of Colo/Taylor/Williamson, which would be a useful thing to see given the unlikelihood of us signing another proper CB. Could have used Sissoko in the middle to see how that might work. Didn't. Played Abeid for some reason even though he's got no chance of featuring this season. Same with Armstrong. Put Perez and Armstrong up front and put a midfield behind them incapable of playing it on the ground, thus negating whatever they might provide. Obertan comes on to do whatever he does - good or bad - which doesn't matter as he isn't going to feature, either. Just a colossal waste.

Pilko
Definitely think the sudden inclusion of Obertan is a shop-window trick like. Especially the "best player" speel after Sheff Wed.

ponsaelius
Honestly, everything that comes out of Pardew's mouth is fucking intolerable.
