toontownman
Are we really going to wait until tmrws press conference to deny this? Can see this costing us the Burnley game. fans will be rightly fuming and down if is gets denied after yet more insulting silence from the club. The hope is high though, coupled with the silence a few journos seemed to think this has more than legs..no update since it was broken though. Tiresias
From swinging from thinking 'no way' last night to 'oooh this may actually happen', I'm now starting to think it won't again. I can imagine him sitting in the dugout pretending this never happened

AlanSkÃrare
He's forced himself into a corner here. He probably wants it badly. My worry is Ashley. He hates looking for managers. He might fight to keep Pardew and demand compensation way out of Palace's reach.

He might fight to keep Pardew and demand compensation way out of Palace's reach. Since Pardew is on less than £20kpw then all he can demand is around £5m for the remaining 5.5 years. I think if palace offer anything above £3m Ashley will bite their hands off.
Decky
Can't Ashley just reject it to keep his yes man in place?

Teasy
If compensation really is a problem then we need to give them a hand, dig deep people its for the best cause ever! Sackpardew.com need to start a collection immediately!
Dokko
Can't Ashley just reject it to keep his yes man in place? No, not if they offer to pay his contract in full (which will be the £5m mark) he can just quite here and settle it in court for the max fee. It's all about the negotiation now (if it's happening)
ujpest doza
Anyone else just been dumped out of their Twitter apps? Yes and it took me until this morning to get back on due to a technical fault.

Beren
Pardew has a contract of employment. Surely he can buy himself out with Palace's money up to the value of his remaining contract salary? So Ashley can't demand 12million or something absurd. Not sure if Palace are that flush though. As in, rich enough to buy his existing contract and pay him enough to make it worth his while to leave which would presumably require a lengthy contract too. Klaus
The silence from the club is a sign imo, all the newspaper talk would prompt a swift response if it was all bullshit.

Maybe he loves Gouffran because they are both shit with no end product and wore no. 11? It's like a possessive parent wanting the child to succeed in his failed footsteps. ujpest doza
McCoist to Newcastle would make sense knowing what Ashley is like. Wouldn't help his hearing with the SFA about conflict of interest tho McCoist is on Gardening Leave though, paid by Rangers for the next 12 months and still therefore technically employed by them. Only way to get out of it would be for Rangers to pay his contract up which they can't afford to do and if they did by way of a loan from Ashley would be under heavy scrutiny. He's only managed in a pub league as well with a team that (prior to their fall from grace) had virtually zero competition. And he's an ex mackem. I don't know... You can never tell. Sometimes they just won't bother commenting at all on things.. There is no rhyme or reason. Guest H09
It could easily be a sign of the incompetence of the staff and lack of communication between people within the club. I can see the club saying tomorrow sorry about that, Charnley had taken some annual leave.
ujpest doza
Just had a text from someone within Fat LeeCharnley's circle. An official approach was made at 2015 last night. King Mike has asked them to buy out Pardew's contract, plus an additional compensation fee. That is around £2m the ITK thinks. That's where it is at at the minute. The ball is in Palace's court. Pardew is open to the idea of going. He thinks that the treatment he received from the fans earlier in the year was over the top, hysterical and disproportionate. He realises he will never win the fans over, which irks him. Although he appreciates the support KM offered in September, the relationship has never been strong or particularly amicable. The club have, and have always had, a succession plan in place for this scenario. Ashley will never pay a compensation for a manager currently in work. In the first instance the job will be offered on an interim basis (end of the season) to Fabricio Coloccini. The existing backroom staff will remain and assist. Don't like the last bit!!
