He won't suddenly be a good manager though, even if he does win the first couple of games.

He'll soon revert to type and break all kinds of Palace records for defeats and goals scored against. Then he'll relegate them, fail to get them out of the Championship and be sacked.

Oh, and their academy which has a pretty good record of producing good, flair players? He'll ruin that too.

If he signs in time for Sunday his first 2 games will be televised :anguish: / :megusta:

New manager bounce, media will make him out as a hero, and we unfairly drove him out of the club. :anguish:

Conversely, they lose to Conference side Dover then get hammered in a local derby against Tottenham. All in glorious HD  :mung:

"Well I had a good time at Noocarsel. There was some rough times, and some good times. The 4-4 and finishing 5th being particular highlights. Mike was fantastic and backed me all the way but sometimes I feel as a clab we couldn't match the fans expectations. Noocarsel is a big clab but I feewl their expectations are a little too high. We was a good side and I'm sure we can build a good side at Palace. Yada, yada, yada..."

f***. OFF.

I don't think you can put much stock in what current players say about the situation, to be honest. Unless the relationship is a complete nightmare, players will generally back assistants publicly. Not much else Janmaat or Colo could or would say, especially without knowing what is to come. They may well have to work under Carver/Stone for the rest of this season, so no sense poisoning things in public.

I feel quite confident the players' opinions are quite different away from the press.
