Crystal Palace manager

Trevor Sinclair is another idiot who thinks Pardew did a good job here.

The ignorance within football, man.

The problem is all the damage he did in striking fear into our players and picking them for being shite has left a nasty stench and the fact that the downward spiral has continued and he left mid-freefall makes it look from the outside that we were doing better under him. Truth being we would be in this predicament no matter who we had.

This is a weird twist of reality. He left and we've got worse. It isn't juju, it's just the facts. He left us in midtable and we've done our best to get relegated since.

Other teams have terrible managers. Get in a better one and get better results. We've just replaced him with uninspired dross and the squad is weak.

What a fucking cringe. Pardew sends our best player away because said best player correctly thinks he's a complete cunt and there's supposed Newcastle fans bemoaning his departure and wetting themselves that he's why we've got worse? Aye you're not fucking kidding he's the reason we've got worse. Get yourself a fucking Crystal Palace season ticket and have done with it will you?

A brief spell of form had us in midtable. The rot was very, very much there and we're undoubtedly still suffering from the mentality he instilled into the squad. Pardew created the idea that we weren't good enough, that we had no right to challenge the top 6 and Europe. That has now become the top bullet point ahead of everything else that follows on the actual footballing agenda. Now we're 20th and he is as accountable as anyone,  regardless of the fact he's been gone for ten months.

Our current identity is still defined by the work he did since the moment we came 5th.

And what he's doing now at Palace, as if it actually needs saying, plays no bearing on the above.

The reason why we are sitting 19th isn't because of Alan Pardew.

You truly believe this mindset has come from Alan Pardew? I firmly believe that's come from Mike Ashley and Alan Pardew was towing the company line. He's spineless man but the fact he jumped ship for CP is damning. It's a better situation, even with them in the relegation zone. Ambitious owners.

The reason why we are still suffering, is because the cancer is still at the club. He's the man that has fostered the mindset. He's the reason our squad is inadequate and imbalanced.

He facilitated it, man.

We were also signing in-form strikers from Europe in January before Pardew convinced Ashley we weren't good enough to play in Europe.

You honestly believe Alan Pardew, convinced Mike Ashley we couldn't compete in Europe. Is that how you believe it went down?

We qualified for Europe and reinforced our side with Vurnon Anita that summer. That should've shown you we had no plans to make an impact in that competition and come again in the league. It was impossible. We've seen Everton qualify for Europe, going out and getting another 2 or 3 and still struggle. Swansea too.

I agreed, he facilitated it. A complicit cog in the machine.

Pardew had much more match winners when he was in charge so he got away with having no plan and shit football to a certain extent results wise. Cabaye, Remy, Ba, Cisse, HBA all won us games that we played shit in at various different stages of his tenure in charge. Now we don't really have any of those type of players so I believe Pardew wouldn't be doing much better than McClaren is at the moment. I don't watch them regularly but just from looking at some of their players I would guess that this is how Crystal Palace are doing well at the moment as well. Players like Zaha, Bolasie and Cabaye winning them games they maybe don't deserve to win

Yep, I do. That is precisely what happened. He convinced loads of people that if you get into the Europa, you pay the price by battling relegation on the home front. The truth is that that is utter bollocks; he and his coaching staff simply weren't up to the job of organising the squad for two matches a week. Then of course the tactics went horribly negative, he surrendered to the demands of a striker who was always leaving and etc etc etc. Things rapidly went to shit and our involvement in the Europa was just the tip of the iceberg. He, however, crowned it as the main reason - in spite of the fact our worst runs of form actually came during the Euro hiatus.

The recruitment that summer was simply cluelessness from the board thinking we'd cracked it and wouldn't need to invest. If Pardew gave a damn he'd have called them out and probably fucked off. Instead he allowed it to continue happening whilst drumming it into the fans, the media, the squad and - by manner of the results - the board that we had no right to compete.

The flames of that season are still flickering: where the desire to really compete became a lower priority than the need to simply exist in the division. Through his incompetence, he fooled those above him into believing that competing wasn't worth the risk. Therefore he is one of those accountable for the current state of the club.

If you qualify for the EL for the first time in yonks and you don't invest - you will struggle. It's that simple. The only teams that seem to cope with it, are seemingly in it every year and they have teh squad for it. I've given you the examples. And those clubs actually tried to reinforce their squads for the EL campaigns. It's not clueless. They didn't want to invest. Being in the EL meant nothing because the money is so poor for it. This is behaviour that we see today.

I think you're being naive. If we wanted to challenge for Europe again that season, we would've put up the money to sign all the players we eventually signed in January, in August including Remy. We had made all the connections but wanted to wait until the fees where at rock bottom to increase the gains when they where sold. I;m sure Pardew would've wanted those players in the summer instead. What you're saying doesn't make any sense. Why would a manager say "please don't give me money to buy me players so we can qualify for Europe every season. In fact, sell my best players instead and don't replace them."

Look at him, he's gone and bought a 29 year old for £15m and loads of money on shit strikers. He's going for it. Because he knows he can.

I can't believe the reason NUFC is run like Sports Direct is because Alan Pardew made apparent self made billlionaire Mike Ashley believe we couldn't compete. It just doesn't make any sense. If Pardew was so convincing why didn't he let him sign a 6'4 defender he banged on about for 2 years? Why couldn't he convince him to keep Cabaye?

In 2011, Jose Enrique and Joey Barton suggested the club lacked ambition. Chris Hughton & Kevin Keegan where sacked as NUFC managers essentially because they wouldn't tow the party line and/or fed lies. That's why Pardew was brought in, because they knew he would be their puppet. And that's what he did. Alan Pardew's gone. We've almost gotten relegated. And we are still here signing players based on possible future value and nothing to do with the team.

Agree with a fair bit of what TCD says there but I also do not underestimate the role Pardew played in dampening expectations throughout the club or the fanbase as to what we could achieve on the pitch at any given time. He's a cowardly manager and behaved accordingly, it just so happened that him being a coward fit into the clubs policy of being cheap.

Alan 'thank God we're not in Europe' Pardew loves being in Europe man. TCD's just explained with words about things. They might not necessarily be true, but he's said them for God's sake! Wake up!
