dinotheprehistoricgeordie
Any chance of De Jong getting on the bench for this?
GeordieT
Cannot see anything other than a defeat unfortunately with Alnwick in goal. Will be going into the game with no confidence and they will play on it.

Will be going into the game with no confidence and they will play on it. Alnwick in goal is just the start. We also have Williamson at the back, Gouffran on the wing and that horrible, classless, no lipped, ebola deserving cunt in the dug out.

GeordieT
I would be surprised if it wasn't: Alnwick, Janmaat, Taylor, Colo, Dummett, Tiote, Colback, Sissoko, Ameobi, Cisse, Perez (433/4231).

Godot
You appreciate the competency of your average pro goalkeeper when seeing lads like Alnwick thrown in at the deep end. The amount of skill required is truly under-appreciated. Alnwick struggles with the basics like routine catches and his positioning is almost always wrong. He is still a far better goalkeeper than 99% of the population but an absolute country mile off the standard needed.

Guest Gino14
I think looking at the records of the Keepers in question we'd be better off with Woodman in goal. This is a lad who won the u17's European Championship as part of a penalty shootout. He might be young, but it suggests some level of ability and potential. Alnwick just looks like a non league keeper that we've brought in because we thought any old plodder would do as third choice if they're cheap. Nobody
When are some of our injured players going to be fit again? It's getting daft again now. This feels like another one of our classic lying tactics to me. Once injuries starts coming, we tend to say that they are going to be fit a lot sooner than they actually are. Presumably to keep supporters from criticising the regime for not signing enough back up players, with going "oh, we thought he was going to be fit, but he's just not quite ready yet." It's the complete opposite of what Man U used to do under Ferguson, they always said that Rooney probably won't make it for next weekend, then there he was starting against us again. It's the way it should be done, IMO. Of course this goes out of the window when Pards needed his players rushed back that weren't ready to save his arse. kingxlnc
The worst thing about it is that we actually now have a semblance of appreciation for blob Elliot! Only a little bit, mind you. He's still awful. For 20 years we were spoiled with a plethora of riches in the GK department, first Srnicek and Hislop, then Given (who never got injured) and Harper (ditto), then Harper and Krul, and briefly Krul and Forster. We need to get back to a decent no. 1 and 2 pairing ASAP.
bhoywhonder
Look at Sir Bobby in that photograph. Stoic and unshakable in his ethos even in the face of unrelenting media criticism. Such pride, such dignity... Look at Taylor in that photograph. The snood and wig combine to make a perfect facsimile of a giant foreskin, tugged down to reveal a monochrome bell-end. Such pride, such dignity....

Elliottman
Just off the back of two bad defeats, our of the cup, a kid in goal, massive injury list, a huge derby in a few days, and this is what we have to rely on. look at them.
