Apparently the revenue is but he's matched the costs to 12/13 accounts and taken estimates on the transfers.

Won't be a million miles away then.... That's HF's thing isn't it?

Haha yeah, was going to say.  No way we can let that go as profit and risk losing a fair few million to the tax man.  Buy some players you gout ridden jello.

Indeed. Will be interesting to see how much a of chunk gets paid off, otherwise there will be a huge tax bill.

Not sure there'd be any tax benefits considering the debt all comes back to him anyway.

Corporation tax is based on profit- repaying debts at their face value wouldn't have any impact on P&L, so wouldn't change the tax bill.

Charging interest however, would reduce taxable profit at NUFC but this would simply create taxable income elsewhere in the MASH structure. It may be that he can offset interest income from NUFC with losses on some of the more unusual bits of business he's been up to over the last couple of years (at least where it's not been done via SD).

We have no money, we have to live within our means.

It depends on how much losses we have accumulated. We'll have to wipe out the taxes due to us from that first. A year or two ago we have a lot of losses accumulated but I'm sure a large amount is expired already. There will be a huge tax bill next year, I'm sure.

Fully expect to hear them spin this. Probably something along the lines of how difficult it is to buy players once selling clubs know that you 've got cash to spend. Won't be held to ransom, still looking for value, move on to other targets etc.

The plan won't change, having money in the bank will suddenly become a hindrance rather than an advantage.
