Everton vs Newcastle United - 15/03/15 @ 4:00pm

Comfortable 2-0 home win. When you're on a shit run, desperate for a result you couldn't pick a better fixture than Newcastle at home. We'll roll over and make it easy for them.

Gouffran start apparently.

Up front.

:jones:

Good. It's where he should have been playing all along.

Preferably not with Riviere like. Up-front with Cisse would have been my preference... oh well.

Also, from the bbc preview of the game. Classic negative followed by a triple punch of positive news.

Newcastle striker Papiss Cisse begins a seven-game suspension, but Rob Elliott, Remy Cabella and Jack Colback return.

Pre-match threads are getting shorter and shorter as people run out of fucks to give, I'm sure we could chart them on a graph to plot the loss of interest.

Was gonna post this last night, but couldn't be bothered.

Here are some reasons to look forward to this game:

  • This is a golden opportunity to improve our awful record at Goodison Park
  • A win would almost guarantee we finish above Everton for only the 2nd time in 10 years.
  • A win would also secure our first double over Everton since the 01/02 season
  • Everton's leaky back four could make this the perfect moment for Manu Riviere to kick start his Newcastle career
  • A goal for Ryan Taylor or Jonas Gutierrez would be an emotional moment, one of the most memorable of the season
  • A number of young players are included in the matchday squad. It would be refreshing to see Satka or Roberts get some game time
  • Both teams have poor defensive record, so this could potentially an entertaining high-scoring game
  • A win makes Burnley ever so slightly more likely to stay up. Who doesn't like Burnley?

You missed off the bit about how a win pushes Carver closer to being made manager permanantly.
