nufcjb
That round badge matches the colour scheme. Black and light blue of the supposed new kits.
ToonArmy1892
Is that one of the older crests? Or it's very similar. I've got a hat with the current crest on the front, that one, and the NUFC in a circle shape on the sides.
NE27
I personally like our current crest the way it is. Don't see why they maybe couldn't do a different style on an away or third shirt perhaps.
astraguy
That better not be true ?nothing wrong with our crest leave it alone
ToonArmy1892
Isn't it just because circle shapes are easier to print, use on websites etc than irregular shapes. Not saying i agree, but i think that's the reason. Edited May 26, 2021 by ToonArmy1892
SEMTEX
Its simplification to make it cheaper to produce, and to make it more versatile. Flattening of the colours is probably more valuable than the shape, I think?!

Anyone know if that was the one and only league game we've ever played at SJP in an away kit? Probably, the other was in the champs league at home to Juve. Wtf was all that about home teams wearing away kits that season?

Guest reefatoon
The magpie needs to be under the ball looking up as it blasts miles over his head. Much more fitting.
HaydnNUFC
Newcastle Hotspur. Honestly, hope we never change our crest. Anyone who wants it changed is probably a nonce.
nbthree3
You don't see many crests modelling the city coat of arms these days, it's a great nod to tradition
Yorkie
I would put every penny I have on the badge changing during this decade. Ashley would have done it himself if he gave two shites about the commercial arm of the club. Ours, Southampton's and Palace's are all massively outdated. Not that I wouldn't hate to see it change. RodneyCisse
We used that badge between 1976 - 1983.
Rafalove
We have the best crest going, it should never, ever change, I’d happily pay an extra quid or two for to keep it the way it is on merchandise products to keep it the way it is.
Kaizero
People in not liking change shocker. Not saying I prefer the new option, but change is inevitable. It is on us, the fans, to influence the change happening ( ) Edited May 26, 2021 by Kaizero
midds
Nothing wrong with the current one but it does look a bit dated I suppose. It's about 30 years old and probably a bit old fashioned. I'd rather keep it but if it needs to be changed then I hope they change it to that one, just as smart and looks a bit sharper imo.
Rosenrot
I think we could do with a new badge like. Would be good to signify a new era for the club.
Magpie
I think the current one is a little outdated, quite like that new potential design
GavMcEl
Love the current crest, have it tattood on me leg but I've always thought that old crest was class, deffo wouldn't oppose to it changing back to that one, as some one said on here, we've had the current one for over 30 years, obviously there's been great memories attached to it (some horrible ones aswell) but perhaps it has ran its course, look at the 30 years since we last changed it, nearly every club in the football league has changed there crest or modified it in someway... and if the takeover goes through great way to signify a new era
