I'm completely done with this world cup now that Trump has effectively declared War on Europe. I hope it's empty seats galore. Fuck Infantino and Trump

Scorched earth is the best way to go with this. I have just managed to resource every US made product I used to buy with a locally produced one. Some better quality some not, but at least I am not funding their political madness. This has been a lot harder than I first thought and required a fair amount of research. The World Cup is just another logical step. Hopefully the madness will not be long-term, and I can look forward to my grapefruit juice once again.

Exactly what enforcement powers does Fifa actually have? I know they hold players licenses but this only matters because people agree that it does. They can't exactly turn up at a stadium and arrest someone who is trying to play if both teams are fine with them playing. I suppose they can not recognise a result but again if the competition the teams are playing in does again who cares.

The reason I ask is I wonder how far off an actual boycott of the World Cup by certain teams is. If Denmark qualify and the Greenland situation escalates I could see them boycotting and I could see European countries joining them, I would fully support this. If this were to happen I think Europe has the capacity to hold an alternative World Cup at relatively short notice. It is actually an opportunity to wrestle control back off the awful organisation that is Fifa. Honestly that abomination needs to die.

Ironically the US actually provides a bit of precedent for this by holding the "Freedom Games" in LA in 1980 in opposition to the Moscow Olympics which they were boycotting due to the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan.

Infantino with three of the biggest terrorists and frauds the world has ever known. Zero chance the turbo cunt does anything of meaning around Greenland. Probably still sprinkling gold leaf on his cock and getting it licked off by hookers.

Not interested in this world cup much at all tbh. Feeling might change by the end of the season but it's sounding increasingly like an abomination.

The orange faced cunt will just claim whatever he wants to claim about the World Cup.

No boycoutt - “everyone loves us, America is the biggest and best it was the biggest and best World Cup ever. Look how bigly MAGA is” etc

It legitimises his crackpot racist imperialist regime.

Boycoutt - “all these unfriendly counties need to be punished for their unfriendliness, we’ve put on the biggest and best World Cup ever and all stadiums were full. Soccer isn’t American, ban soccer in schools” etc.

He’ll claim stadiums were rammo and it was the greatest event in the history of World Cups, even though we all saw tumbleweed blowing through empty stadiums and loads of teams didn’t turn up.

That’s the problem with a sociopathic narcissist cult leader who’s a habitual liar even in the face of overwhelming evidence that what he’s saying can’t possibly be true.

The only hope with a boycoutt is that American sponsors and advertisers kick off because it hits them commercially and they’re associated with a toxic event.

Worst of them all. The Salt Nonce.

Ran into him at his restaurant in Istanbul years ago. Total creep, an arrogant sod that kept hitting on any attractive woman there and even trying to get handsy with my ex. Clocked he was a wrong’un long before he became a full-blown hate figure.

Food was fine tbf, massively overpriced though. 2 stars.

It’s been extremely telling that the same people who had extremely grave (and in many cases correct) concerns about the brown lads of Qatar hosting an event and how bad it’d be for the travelling masses, including themselves, haven’t piped up about their forthcoming jolly to North America.

Can’t help but shake the feeling Donald is going to do something to materially interfere with the WC whilst it’s going on.

At this rate he'll force Pochettino to select Barron in the USMNT squad

If it costs the USA a fortune and Trump/Infantino come out of it looking like total charlatans, let's just cancel the fucking thing, or even better move it to Europe.

Let me say that while Poch is a very good coach, we are not a particularly good team and it will be shocking to see us, “miraculously”, in the semifinals.

I realise this is yet another political pet hate thread for neurotics.  But I'm going to say something off topic and controversial.  I'm looking forward to the Football during the Football World Cup

There is a lot about America that I love, music, films and authors but not there politics and there mad claims of being the best country in the world. People moan about living in the UK but at least if we're ill we get treated for free at hospitals and clinics. Imagine living in America and just being left to rot because you don't pay for health care, it's sickening. Health is the most important thing and the American politicians don't care about there people. Farcical stuff.

I'm not going to claim that I won't watch the World Cup but I won't watch much of it due to the middle of the night start times. I'd be surprised if any of our nations have any group games on before midnight. Hopefully I'm wrong though.
