I'm afraid this bloke is a donkey. He's that young and hot headed he has already become a liability and refs are looking for him after what? A couple of games? Mitro is a work in progress and has promise but he's not ready for the PL and that is already clear. Has a big heart and I like him but the money should have been spent on a more all round striker in his mid-twenties not some geezer from the badlands. What's worse is if he immediately takes the aggression out of his game like he's gong to have to he'll be half the player.

Your opinion has come too soon. (I hope).

He's going to be fine unless it's a death by media circus we're going to see.

Maybe stick to the Liverpool thread. Donkey ffs. Based on 3 games? He was hard done by today, aye it was daft but it was a split second misjudgment. He hasn't went to hack the cunt to pieces. Ridiculous craic that.

It's just going to say reckless/dangerous. All interpretation shit.

My interpretation is that it was neither.

Total agreement. It was clearly neither.

The ball was there, the ball was gone. Oops. Tough shit, it happens every game near enough. No way it was malicious or intent.

it was virtually an identical challenge to Sissoko's in the 3rd minute,  both just mistimed but not malicious.  If the first was a yellow then Mitrovic's challenge should have been yellow as well.

Looks like Mitrovic will be a marked man and end up like Tiote as half the yellow cards Cheick gets are a result of his reputation resulting in yellows that other players would get away it.

I've watched him since he was 6.

Coquelin, what a sad little man. All game he was at it.

That free kick they got late in the game on the edge of our box.... His fall to the ground had three different stages to it. Seemed to get himself horizontal then hurle himself a few yards forward.

It's Arsenal players all over. They all throw themselves over first chance...Giroud is one of the worst.

It looked bad on BT, when the slowed it right down, but surely you can say that about many similar challenges? Mariner was looking for the lad, from the off and our young Serb is going to have to wise up.

Yellow card would have done, IMO.

He needs to calm down if even just for a couple of months to get the media or referees off his back. He'll get sent off every second or third game if he keeps going the way he is. Reputation counts for an awful lot

Big test of our ability to manage his personality. This has the potential to go very wrong - we could overcoach him to be too timid, taking his edge away and blunting his important aggression. On the other hand, we could fail to control his aggression and end up with a player that's not to be trusted on the pitch. Methinks Steve Black and the psychological team will have a real job on their hands in the time he's suspended.

Did himself no favours getting that yellow in his first match. The cunt brigade that is premier refs have marked him from the off.

Don't forget the type of shit Wenger etc will whisper in the refs ear before the game. Mitro bossed them and scored in the CL, no way AW would let that shit stand. Let the ref know he's as dirty as fuck from the off, then it's there in his mind. Guaranteed.

Wenger's a cheating prick and always has been. Amazes me (or not) how popular he is with the false 9 brigade. Then again, he's a saint next to Mourinho.

It's just going to say reckless/dangerous. All interpretation s***.

My interpretation is that it was neither.

Howard Webb said after the game that intent doesn't come into it, and that it all comes down to whether the tackle was dangerous. Studs up onto the shin / foot automatically makes it dangerous (in the modern game).

Sadly that's just the way it is. Pointless arguing about it.

Either way he needs to wise up because he's a marked man and he has brought it on himself.

It isn't at all pointless arguing about it. It's your (or Howard Webb's) interpretation that studs up to the shin automatically makes something dangerous, where as it is my opinion that Howard Webb is full of shit, and for it to be dangerous it has to have some speed/force behind it, which is normally caused by severe recklessness or malice. There is no way this is a red card, whether it's 2015 or 1915.

The sad thing is that he was clearly gagging to get out there and play in front of St James, you could see that in his pre-match interview. I'm not sure if he's maybe trying too hard as a result, or he's just a clumsy tackler, but his past record does seem to suggest it's a trait of his game. We need to get him to just rein it in a touch, not get rid of the aggression altogether, that's what actually makes him a perfect match for this club.
